7 children among 11 from UP killed in Rajasthan accident

Eleven people including seven children were killed when a pickup truck carrying pilgrims collided with a parked container on National Highway-148 in Bapi Village, police said Wednesday.
Police said all the victims were residents of Etah and Firozabad districts in Uttar Pradesh. The passengers of the pickup vehicle were returning to their village in UP’s Etah after visiting Khatu Shyam and Salasar Balaji temple when the accident took place on Manoharpur highway around 4-5 am, Dausa SP Sagar said. Seven children and four women died in the accident; seven have been identified as Poorvi (3), Daksh (12), Seema (25), Priyanka (25), Anshu (26), Saurabh (28) and Sheela (35), officials said.

Expressing grief over the accident, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma posted on X in Hindi: “The news of loss of life in a horrific road accident in Dausa is extremely tragic. The district administration has been directed to ensure prompt and proper treatment for the injured. May God grant a place at His divine feet to the departed souls and provide speedy recovery to the injured.” Sharma has instructed officials to ensure proper arrangements for the treatment of the injured.
President Droupadi Murmu said in a post on X in Hindi: “The news of the death of many people, including women and children, in a road accident in Dausa, Rajasthan, is very tragic. I express my deep condolences to the bereaved families. I pray for the speedy recovery of those injured.”
In UP’s Etah, district magistrate Prem Ranjan Singh, with SP and others, visited the bereaved families and assured all possible assistance. With PTI inputs
