The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has booked a former principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya in Visakhapatnam for allegedly admitting 193 ineligible students in last two academic years on basis of fake service certificates by taking bribes from parents, the agency said Thursday. The CBI Wednesday filed two FIRs against the principal, invoking charges of criminal conspiracy, prevention of corruption and fraud. “The information was further developed and it came to light that he conspired with parents of ineligible students and provided admissions to 124 ineligible students of various classes for the academic years; 202l-22, 2022-23 and received pecuniary advantage in lieu of providing admission,” the CBI has said in the FIR. The agency said its anti-corruption branch conducted a surprise check along with KV officials on May 3 and 4 to verify admissions for both academic years.
