In its third and final list of 18 released late Wednesday, the BJP dropped three MLAs. In Ramnagar, incumbent MLA Bhagirathi Devi was replaced by Nandkishore Ram. From Narkatiaganj, MLA Rashmi Verma was replaced by Sanjay Pandey. In Pirpainti, Lalan Paswan was replaced by Murari Paswan.

From Raghopur, the party once again fielded Satish Kumar Yadav against Tejashwi Yadav. He was first fielded by the JD(U) in 2010 against the then-incumbent Rabri Devi, narrowly defeating her. He lost the next two times against Tejashwi after switching to the BJP.

The BJP’s first list of 71 names was announced Tuesday.

Maithili Thakur, who joined the BJP in Patna Tuesday, has been fielded in Alinagar from where Mukesh Sahani-led VIP, a former BJP ally, had earlier fielded a candidate.
