Bank Holidays in April 2025: According to the 2025 RBI Holiday calendar, the majority of banks in India will remain closed today, Tuesday, April 1, 2025, except for Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya.
Furthermore, banks in India will be closed for up to 15 days in April due to public holidays, which include the second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays, as scheduled by the RB instrumental holiday list.
The majority of banks in India will remain closed on April 1 due to the year-end bank closing. Financial institutions will take time off to finalise their accounts for the financial year 2024-25 (FY25) while reconciling their yearly transactions, updating records, and preparing for the new fiscal year.
Consequently, this means customers cannot avail themselves of banking functions on that day and are advised to be aware of these holidays in advance to avoid any inconvenience regarding banking services.
Banks in Jharkhand will also be closed on account of Sarhul, a spring festival which marks the beginning of the new year. This year, it is falling on the same day as the year-end bank closing, i.e. April 1, Tuesday.
However, ATM and online banking services will continue as usual without any hindrance. It allows people to carry out online transactions, bill payments and other online services available on the online platforms of these banks.
