An AIADMK functionary, who allegedly set himself ablaze after hearing the deteriorating health condition of former chief minister Jayalalithaa, succumbed to injuries at the government hospital in Chennai, police said Friday. The 50-year old Ramachandran, a party functionary in Annur in rural limits had allegedly poured kerosene and set himself on fire in the evening of December five, as rumours spread on Jayalalithaa's health. He was admitted to the government hospital here with over 70 per cent burns and was under treatment.However, he died late last night, police said.
