3 Bangladeshi nationals held in Tripura while trying to illegally enter India
On September 3, a 16-year-old girl of Bangladesh was found dead with bullet wounds on her body near the Laitapura Border Outpost (BOP) along the Indo-Bangla international border in Kailashahar of Tripura's Unakoti district.

In the last 48 hours since Monday, the Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended three Bangladeshi nationals from Tripura’s Unakoti district while they were trying to illegally cross the Indo-Bangla international border fence, officials said on Wednesday.
Speaking to the media, a BSF Public Relations Officer (PRO) said two Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended near the Murtichera Border Out Post (BOP) in Unakoti district on September 10 based on a tip-off.
The apprehended individuals are residents of Madaripur district of Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, BSF troops apprehended another Bangladeshi national near the Danpur BOP in the Sepahijala district while he was trying to cross the border from the Bangladesh side. The arrested Bangladeshi national is a resident of Comilla district of Bangladesh.
Earlier, on September 7, four Bangladeshi nationals were arrested at Dharmanagar in North Tripura district.
These infiltrations come in the backdrop of tight security along the Indo-Bangla international border in Tripura in the wake of tension in neighbouring Bangladesh.
During interrogation in one of the cases, one of the arrestees said the situation in Bangladesh is dire and there is severe lack of work, owing to which they crossed over to India.

Her body was later handed over to the Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) and Bangladesh Police authorities following a post-mortem examination.
Tripura shares an 856-km international border with Bangladesh, including land based and riverine border, much of which is guarded with barbed wire fences except a few patches which are still unfenced due to local disputes.
