Actor Jitendra Kumar’s first look as Abhishek Tripathi from the third season of Amazon Prime Video’s hit series Panchayat was released on Saturday. The OTT giant revealed the first look of the show on social media. In the photo, the actor, who plays the Panchayat Secretary in the show, is seen riding his motorcycle with bags on his back. Now, it is not clear if he is leaving the Phulera village.

The second photo in the post shows other characters of the show, including Banrakas, Vinod and Madhav, played by Durgesh Kumar, Ashok Pathak and Bulloo Kumar respectively, sitting on a bench. The wall behind them says, “Thokar lagti hai to dard hota hai, tabhi manushya seekh pata hai. (Failures might hurt you, but you learn from your failures).”

The photos were shared on the official Instagram account of Prime Video with the caption, “We know the wait is unbearable, so we got you a lil something from the sets! #PanchayatOnPrime Season 3.” However, the makers are yet to announce the show’s release date.

In November, Neena Gupta, who plays the role of Manju Devi, posted a video from her wrap-up party of the series. In the video, she was seen along with her on-screen husband and seasoned actor Raghubir Yadav. Neena wrote in the caption, “Wrap up of the 3rd season of Panchayat!”

The second season of TVF’s Panchayat recently bagged the Best Web Series (OTT) Award at the recently held 54th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The category was introduced at the festival for the first time and Panchayat 2 was the first series to win it.

The series revolves around the journey of an engineering graduate who becomes a panchayat secretary in the fictional village of Phulera, Uttar Pradesh, due to limited job options. The show’s first season premiered on Prime Video in April 2020, during the Covid lockdown period, and earned immediate acclaim.
