Anil Kapoor-hosted Bigg Boss OTT Season 3 has finally premiered on JioCinema. One of the contestants to hop on the Bigg Boss OTT bandwagon this season is actor Sai Ketan Rao. For those who don’t know, Sai is a popular TV actor. His 2021 show Mehendi Hai Rachnewali, on Star Plus, saw immense success and became one of the leading daily soaps. Now as he enters Bigg Boss OTT 3, the actor paints a sketch of his personality in an interview with Indianexpress.com.
Having done popular shows, like Mehendi Hai Rachnewal, Chashni and Imlie, on television until recently, Sai shares what led him to take on Bigg Boss OTT 3. He said, “I have done three successful shows on TV, people loved my characters. But I wanted to do something different. I thought Bigg Boss is the best platform. It is not just a controversial show, but a talent show as well. The audience is very different and the biggest one in the country, so I wanted to draw in that audience too. Also, I get scared when I present myself as Sai Ketan Rao in front of the camera. I want to overcome that.”

Describing his personality as complex, mysterious, and competitive, Sai Ketan Rao also shares that he would be friendly and understanding in the Bigg Boss OTT house, but will also be strict and take a stand where needed. “I don’t know about being mentally strong, but yes, I would want to be present in every situation. If I feel something is right, I will take a stand on that. I don’t know how I will deal with the pressure in the house, but I am very solution-oriented. I apply logic to all situations.”
When asked for his take on the popular opinion that TV actors only take up Bigg Boss when their career is in a downward spiral, Sai responded, “It’s just an opinion and assumption which I fail to understand. Bigg Boss has had actors who have done many popular shows and have continued to work after that too.”
One of the biggest reasons why Sai Ketan Rao wants to be a part of Bigg Boss OTT 3 is that he wants “people to recognize me as Sai Ketan Rao and not the roles I have played.” On a parting note, he adds being understanding and friendly are his strengths, but being too emotional is a weakness, especially for a house like Bigg Boss.
