SCREEN's film review Avinash Ramachandran gave the film, 2.5 stars. He wrote in his Game Changer review," A riveting Ram Charan anchors a middling Shankar showreel that needed more upgrades." Game Changer earned around 14.66 Cr India net on its first day for all languages, as shared by Sacnilk.com. Game Changer Day 1 box office collection is expected to be between Rs 50 crore gross if it picks up in the evening.

As per Sacnilk, the film has earned Rs 43.55 crore (with block seats) in India and Rs 27.6 crore (without block seats), through advance sales.

The current biggest solo grosser of Ram Charan is Rangasthalam which grossed around 220 crores worldwide and was a big blockbuster. Game Changer will have to make more than double margin to emerge as a success.

As per a report by Sacnilk.com, the overseas business of Ram Charan's film so far is of 25 crores in advance booking, and Game Changer's worldwide theatrical rights are valued at around Rs 220 crores. Game Changer -- made at a budget of Rs 450 cr -- will need to score around Rs 221+ crores worldwide share or around 425+ crores gross collection in order to break even and emerge as a box office hit.

Trade Analyst Manobala Vijayabalan gave Game Changer 5 out of 5 stars and wrote in his review, "Shankar has given a comeback with remarkable film that blends engaging storytelling, stellar performances, and top-notch technical elements to create an immersive cinematic experience. He masterfully handled the transitions between lighthearted moments and intense drama, keeping us engaged. Ram Charan's fantastic performance with nuanced portrayal of the character brings both intensity and strength to the role. S J Suryah was outstanding. Kiara Advani and Anjali did their roles perfectly. Songs and visuals were a treat to watch on the big screen. Background score enhanced the elevation in key scenes. Overall an impactful commercial entertainer with Shankar mark."

Following the stampede at Sandhya theatre on December 4 during the benefit show of Pushpa 2, where a woman was killed and her son was critically injured, Minister for Roads and Buildings and Cinematography Komatireddy Venkata Reddy had announced on December 21, 2024 in the Assembly that the state government would no longer permit benefit shows of films unless they were focused on social issues or patriotism. Thus the State government has denied the request for a 1 a.m. benefit show with enhanced ticket rates for the film. From January 11 to 19, theatres will be permitted to screen five shows daily for nine days.

As per the latest updates, the Telangana government has approved an increase in ticket prices and additional screenings for the film Game Changer. Theatres across the State are permitted to screen six shows, including an extra show at 4 a.m. Multiplex theatres are allowed to hike ticket prices by ?150, inclusive of GST, while single-screen theatres can charge an additional ?100, inclusive of GST, on the prevailing ticket rates.
