This event marked the second Primetime Emmy ceremony of 2024, following the rescheduled 75th edition, which was postponed from September 2023 to January 15, 2024, due to the 2023 Hollywood labour disputes. The 76th Emmy Awards, produced by Jesse Collins Entertainment, was aired live on ABC. The ceremony is also available for streaming on Hulu from September 16 to 22. In India, it was broadcasted live on Lionsgate Play.
Emmy nominations 2024
The historical drama series Shogun, created by Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks, led this year’s nominations with an impressive 25 nods, eventually winning in four categories. Meanwhile, the acclaimed psychological comedy-drama The Bear, which has been a dominant force since its debut in 2022, earned 23 nominations. It bagged four awards in major categories, including Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.
Presenters for 76th Emmy Awards
Besides the many nominees attending, renowned celebrities like Viola Davis, Colin Farrell, Joshua Jackson, Don Johnson, Mindy Kaling, John Leguizamo, George Lopez, Steve Martin, Martin Sheen, Dick Van Dyke and Kristen Wiig will attend the event as presenters. Nominated artistes including Lily Gladstone, Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Ebon Moss-Bachrach will also take the stage to present awards in various categories. At the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards held on January 15, 2024, the satirical comedy-drama series Succession won Best Drama Series, with Kieran Culkin and Sarah Snook earning awards for Outstanding Lead Actor and Actress in a Drama Series, respectively. The Bear and Succession led with six major wins each.
