Ankita Lokhande, who is currently participating in the ongoing season of Bigg Boss, recently opened up about her break-up with late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The two started their career around the same time and gained fame with their television show Pavitra Rishta. They dated for seven years before calling it quits. Ankita, in an interview, said that she waited for two and a half years for things to get back to normal between them.
Talking to BBC News Hindi, Ankita said, “For two and a half years, I kept hoping that things will be okay. But one day, it was on the 31st of January… There were so many photos of the two of us in my house. And that day, I decided and told my mother that remove all the photos. I said that’s how it is supposed to be, you have to make space for someone else to come into your life.”
During a recent episode of Bigg Boss 17, Ankita said that her relationship with Sushant ended “overnight”. “He went away from my life suddenly one day. He was getting success so people were trying to manipulate him,” she shared with co-contestant Munawar Faruqui. The actor also mentioned during the episode that Sushant never gave any explanation for their break-up.
Sushant Singh Rajput passed away in June 2020 at his residence in Mumbai.
