Kanguva song ‘Fire’: Suriya number makes a blazing impact. Watch

Composed by Devi Sri Prasad, Kanguva's first song celebrates the element of fire and the warrior character played by Suriya. It has been released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.

One of the most ambitious projects from Tamil cinema, the Suriya-starrer Kanguva is gearing up for release in October.

Kanguva, Suriya’s maiden collaboration with director Siva, is one of the most-anticipated films in Tamil cinema. Backed by Studio Green’s Gnanavel Raja, Kanguva is expected to be Tamil cinema’s big pan-Indian project. On the occasion of Suriya’s birthday, the makers released the first single from the film.

Composed by National Award winner Devi Sri Prasad, the song is aptly titled “Fire” and has been released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. Incidentally, Kanguva means ‘fire’ in Tamil, and the lyric video promises a fiery tale. The film happens across two timelines — a period setting, and the present — and the Fire song is clearly a stellar showcase of the period portions that features Suriya as an intense and ferocious warrior. The lyrics that symbolise the dynamism of fire also gives the right kind of build-up to this almost mythical character played by Suriya.

One of the most ambitious projects from Tamil cinema, Kanguva is gearing up for a release on October 10, and is reportedly made on a budget of over Rs 350 crores. If the quality of CGI in the lyric video is a reflection of what is in store for audiences waiting to watch this big-budget spectacle, then they are in for a real treat this Dussehra.

With just under three months left for the promotion for the film, which will be a two-parter like some of its illustrious predecessors like Baahubali, Pushpa, KGF, and Kalki, the makers have kickstarted their strategy with the Fire song.

Kanguva is set to mark the Tamil debut of Disha Patani and Bobby Deol, and features Jagapathi Babu, Natty Natarajan, Yogi Babu, KS Ravikumar, and Kovai Sarala in pivotal roles. Shot by Vetri Palanisamy, a constant in Siva’s films, Kanguva is also expected to be released in 3D and IMAX formats.
