Dhruva Natchathiram was delayed once again from its latest release date, which was announced as November 24. The film, which went on floors way back in 2016, was stalled multiple times due to production issues. During the pandemic, the production came to a standstill with all the investors suing each other for damages. The director took it upon himself to complete the film, and announced that it would be released on November 24.
Though Ondraga Entertainment, the director’s production banner, shared updates till November 23 assuring the release, the film failed to make it to the theatres. Now, Gautham Menon has broken his silence and released a statement about the delay.
Gautham claimed that they tried to move mountains, but couldn’t succeed in releasing the film. He admitted the whole team is disappointed, but they are continuing to work towards a new release date. He claimed many forces are working against them. The comments section of the tweet was filled with support for the director despite many disappointments in the past.
Multiple investors who funded the film have to be paid off before it can be released, and that’s the reason Gautham is unable to release the film. In an interview with Galatta Plus, Gautham revealed that he is trying to sell the film to an OTT platform and pay off the stakeholders. However, no takers have stepped up yet.
Dhurva Natchathitram, touted to be a spy-thriller, is about a group of secret agents protecting the country from unknown threats. Headed by Dhruv (Vikram), the team comes together for a personal mission of saving the founder of the team from a formidable villain (played by Vinayakan). With music from Harris Jeyaraj, the film also features Ritu Varma, Parthiban, Radhika Sarathkumar, among others.
