AGAIN... It is time to announce the winner of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8.  

AGAIN... Muthukumaran is to Vijay Sethupathi's right, and Soundariya is to his left. Two contestants who were magical throughout this journey.

AND THE WINNER IS...Muthukumaran.

Bala announces that Vijay Sethupathi will return for the ninth season of Bigg Boss Tamil. Will it actually happen? It would be interesting, for sure.

Sethupathi says, "Great great Kamal sir... I am walking in his path... I must thank him for the path he has created."

It is time to announce the winner of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8

Vijay TV channel head Bala joins the show to remind everyone about the journey. 

"Fantastic set of contestants. Everyone was unpredictable, and it was a fantastic gameplay. I felt none of you should be evicted. But hats off guys! It is not easy to face the judgment of crores of people. When we approached him for Bigg Boss, the first thing he said was, 'I don't like Bigg Boss.' By week 4, and week 12, he started saying how we must interview contestants."

Sethupathi: "Many label the contestant's journey as too easy. So, I wanted to shake up the process, and prove to the world that none of them were there without talent."

Bala: "400-odd people work on this show. We had a lot of fun while doing Bigg Boss, because he maintained that fun quotient. He had an immense understanding of the audience, and we understood the importance of learning curve."

So, it is time for the third eviction of the night. 

And it is VJ Vishal, and he warmly exchanges kisses with Vijay Sethupathi.

"When I started the show, I thought it would be a playful journey. But the house proved to me that it is important to be serious at the right moments, and jovial at the right moments. I must thank the people for bringing me to this stage. I am leaving the house knowing I am a better person. I will try to be an entertainer. What connects me, Muthu, and Soundariya is how we always wanted to make people around us laugh a lot. I think that's a beautiful facet of us. A special thanks to Bala sir, Pradeep anna, KK sir, and all the Bigg Boss technicians."

Muthukumaran's mother talks about the changes in her son: "I saw him without a phone in his hand. I realised they are intelligent without their smartphones. He played the games well. He was helpful."

Soundariya's parents about the changes: "I didn't expect her to see so many changes in her characteristics. Her antics were only in front of her friends. I was happy to see her emote from her heart."

Vishal's father: "He has been the same throughout his life. I know the hardships he faced because of me. I think I am the one who has to change. I have changed. Trophy, money... is not as important as the changed father I am going to be for him."

It is time for lights off. The final one for the season. 

Bigg Boss says, "Muthu, Soundariya, Vishal... I love you..." And it is beautiful how a faceless, nameless personality can have such a strong impact on people, as all three collectively tear up. 

Some moments might not be understood easily... but that's the beauty of life, I guess.

Bigg Boss points out that it is raining for the first time during the grand finale. And he beautifully paints a picture with words about the times spent by each housemate inside the Bigg Boss house. 

Bigg Boss points out how they expressed their courage in understanding their strengths and flaws, and gives them parting statements.

"You have earned for recognition... So yeah, I am proud of you, Muthukumaran. You were the first one to say 'Love you' to me, Vishal. I hope you remember your promises... Vishal, Love you too, boss-u. Put a lot of efforts, Soundariya. Be very happy. Be very successful. Earn a lot of money... Keep the inner child alive, always."

The Gamechanger award goes to Manjari.

"I entered the house as a game. Some saw it as a game, and some saw it as LIFE. It was interesting to play this game of life." 

Sathya and Jeffry take the opportunity to explain their stance and why they were seen laughing after the eviction of Jacquline.

SUPERSTRONG award goes to Jacquline. 

"Very happy to be credited as 'super' in something, especially 'super strong.' I am glad my efforts have paid rich dividends."

It is Bigg Boss awards time.

Captain of the Season goes to Deepak, who is indeed very deserving of this honour. 

"Captaincy wasn't easy. I didn't know how to start it at all. I must credit my housemates for being lovely team members."

Master Strategist goes to RJ Ananthi. Quite an interesting choice, I must say. 

"I questioned every move that happened around me... So, I think my questions did change a lot of things. I am grateful for this honour" 

Attention Seeker... and no prizes for guessing who it goes to... Raanav, indeed.

"We are here in this show to seek attention, right? That is why I accepted the fact that I liked the attention, and I craved for it."  

Task Beast... and of course... it goes to the man who won the Ticket to Finale.. Rayan is the winner.

And then there were THREE - Vishal, Soundariya and Muthukumaran

The three huddle up in the activity area, where they are shown the Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8 winner's trophy. Too dramatic? Yeah. But it still works because that is the show, right? 

Each contestant now has the opportunity to talk to the trophy directly.

As always, Muthu is the first one to start the task. 

"Vanakkam,trophy. I do know how you look like... but I know that you are a reflection of people's love and affection. Bigg Boss has given Muthukumaran the identity he craved for sincerely. Sweat, blood, and everything has been spent in this journey. I want the cup to come to me rightfully... it will be the best representation of the love and acceptance of people. And I swear on my efforts that I would remain faithful to this love and acceptance."

Up next, it is Vishal... 

"I can't just decide if I am deserving of it. This would come only with the acceptance of people. I see this show as a platform of change, especially for the self. As a human, the show has definitely changed me a lot. These three months, fighting to get the trophy, I have changed a lot. I am sure, the change would be long-lasting if I get the chance to hold you tight. He channelises the Puratchi Thalaivar MGR and sings 'Unnai Arindhaal'" 

And finally, it is Soundariya's turn.

"With the gift of the gab, I have remained inside the house for so long. What do I tell you now? If you like how I've played these past 100 days, then do come to me. If you think I deserve you, you choose me. I will take whatever results the show decides. I have seen a lot of failures, and I think I would take the success of being able to be the way I am, and the way I wanted to be. I hope you like me... even if you don't... it is okay, I guess."

Pavithra reveals that she definitely didn't expect to be evicted this soon. 

"I learnt life lessons inside the Bigg Boss house. I am a better person when compared to the first day I entered the house." 

Vijay Sethupathi asks, "How did Pavithra stay so long? And what went wrong to come out?" 

Pavi replies, "I was too patient, I guess. And this patience also helped me stay long enough inside the house. And this patience also kept me too reticent inside the house."

It is time for the next eviction. 

The remaining four are asked to come to the activity room. Each of them have been assigned a booth and a book in front of them. 

They are asked to read the book together, page by page. Well, honestly, it is just cacophony, and very very off-putting. But it is okay, I guess. This is the last day. 

But anyway, the next eviction is Pavithra Lakshmi.

Raayan candidly accepts his PR, and asks what Vijay Sethupathi learnt from the contestants. 

VJS: I learnt spontaneity. It was refreshing. I learnt patience while dealing with all of you. I learnt how to keep aside my differences, and interact with you. I learnt how to be a cute rabble-rouser. 

In the future, if we get a chance to work with each other... I might just say no to the film and move on... LOLOLOLOL 

Deepak: If you get a special power from Bigg Boss house... and you could save someone from elimination... who would it be? 

VJS: I like some aspects of every contestant in this reality show. He goes on to list a lot of his favourite and not-so-favourite things about each of them in an almost sing-song voice. But what started as a healthy criticism about contestants slowly descended into pinpointing the negatives more. This actually removes any doubts about Sethupathi not really being affected by the contestants and their machinations, inside and outside the house.

Now, the contestants question Vijay Sethupathi.

Dharsha: What do you think a 'safe game' is? 

VJS: Whatever that you did. Or even what Arnav did. Everyone played a safe game. Manjari did, but then she handled it in a calm and composed manner. Everyone plays it safe initially... even I did. I thought of filtering words, etc. I spoke to the director, tried to edit out things, etc. Probably, if Dharsha got an extra couple of weeks, we might have seen a different Dharsha. Not everyone has the luxury of time. 

Jacquline: We build friendships considering the time we spent with each other. How would you have looked at friendships inside the house?

VJS: Honestly, we can't have guidelines about friendships. In office, or schools, we don't decide beforehand whom we would be friends with. If we choose each others as friends inside Bigg Boss house, there is a chance of them nominating you for eviction. It is an interesting equation. 

Riya: You faced a lot of criticisms yet? They were comparing you with Kamal Haasan sir. Some said you were biased. You supported certain people. 

VJS: I know that Bigg Boss is a different game. I knew I'd face these criticisms. Some said I support Vishal when he made fun of Soundariya. I didn't want to punish him... I just wanted him to learn. Some said we supported them because they are from Vijay TV. It isn't that case at all. 

I know how to filter the reality of my criticisms. It gave me the strength to host.

Now, it is time for the first eviction of the grand finale. 

All five stand in front of a flagpost. The flag would bear the name of the first eviction, and it is...Rayan. 

A beautiful journey comes to an end, but what a ride it was! 

It is just a few minutes before the rest of them join him back on to the stage. But yeah, Rayan holds on to his competitor's trophy as he walks out of the house... with his head held high.

Vijay Sethupathi gifts each contestant a photo that best represents their journey, and his favourite moment. 

Handing Pavithra a photo of her playing a wizened old woman, VJS signs on the framed picture, and wishes her all the best. 

We see a photo of Vishal happily eating. "May all the experiences you have happily digest in your life," says the host as he signs that photo. 

Reminiscing a dialogue from Super Deluxe, and how he got that line framed and signed by Thiagaraja Kumararaja, he spoke about why he was handing these autographed photos out. 

Soundariya is given a photo of her playing a school girl in the show, and urges her to hold on to the liveliness and childishness. 

Rayan gets a photo of him playomg a minister in one of the tasks. "Let sensibility be combined in your speed."  

Praising Muthukumaran's Tamil and sensibilities, Sethupathi hands him a photo of the time he played Vijay Sethupathi's Bhavani character from Master.

Two hours into the show, it is finally time for Vijay Sethupathi to enter the house. The host reveals that he is going to give a bunch of prizes to the top five. 

And Muthukumaran asks the most important question, "Is today the actual finale day?" Well, I hope it is! We have been blogging in the hope that it is. So yeah...

Each contestant talks about the one place that is closest to their heart. 

Pavithra picks the swing near the kitchen. "I love swings. When I took time to mingle with the people, this was my point of solace. During the Hotel task, this was the place where I felt like Bigg Boss home was actually my home."

Vishal picks the kitchen. "This was the only place where we all got together, forgetting all the differences. Food united us all. I learnt to cook for 20-odd people." And Vishal is set to cook garlic chutney and rice for Vijay Sethupathi.

Rayan picks the flower bed. "This is the perfect vantage point to understand what is happening in every corner of the house. This was my go-to spot...the place where everything made a lot of sense."

Muthukumaran picks his bed... the one that he shared with Deepak anna.

"When Deepak anna re-entered... After age of 15, for the first time, I hugged him to sleep. It felt nice, very nice. A flooding of memories from my childhood." 

Soundariya also picks her bed. "It is the place we formulated a lot of plans. We made the Goa Gang. We broke it here also. We deciphered the rules... everything."

And Vishal feeds Sethupathi a mouthful of poondu chutney and rice. Beautiful... just beautiful.

Finally, we have Muthukumaran taking the centerstage. The man who could convince everybody of everything... will he able to do it to himself? 

"Your only aim was to move up the ladder, and be good. You moved away from friendship, love, etc... to run behind success. But Bigg Boss has given you the greed for love, friendship, and affection. From a machine, you have become a manushan. You understood how brickbats were as important as bouquets. You have understood the importance of receiving people's love. Muthukumaran, you have learnt to speak from your heart. Congratulations, Muthu. I have always thought 'I Love You' was a very tough and rare thing... Now, you have learnt how love is something that can be told out loud without any sense of differences in gender, age, equations, etc...Deepak anna has told you what the efforts you must put in to move ahead in your life. Do that with all your heart. Love you, Muthukumaran."

It is lovely how the Bigg Boss voice wonderfully encapsulates every journey, and moves each contestant to the brink of breaking down before seeing their new selves in the mirror. 

Now, we have an emotional Pavithra Lakshmi's facade of strength melting away to see herself for what she truly is. 

"Pavi... one bad incident in your life has made you feel so insecure about your other relationships in the future. More than your strategy, the way you play etc... you expressed a lot of emotions, and you fought for being yourself despite 1000 differences from how you began this journey. There is a lot more to do in your life. Just keep up this energy. Understand the lessons learnt. Be cool, chill, fun, jolly, and strong. That is my biggest learning. You have won over yourself. You have found yourself. Be happy, thanga kutti, chella kutty, be happy... Love you."

Now, it is Rayan, the blue-eyed boy and the green-haired boy of Bigg Boss who stands up against his own reflections. 

"The earlier Rayan had a target, but he didn't know how to find the path. It isn't enough to have confidence and destination in sight, right? But I realised the answer always was within me. I believed in myself. I knew only I could bring out the best in me. Whatever people said, I knew I'd be there for me. I knew I had to voice my opinions. I knew I could persevere, and give 1000 per cent to everything we do. It is important to break out from the burden of self-doubt. Always remember, the answer is within you. Always."

Next up, we have Soundariya.  

A visibly emotional and teary-eyed Soundariya looks at herself in the mirror, and sports one of the widest smiles she had over the past 100 days. 

"You are a really brave woman. Even if you had insecurities inside you, you put up a brave face. You remained steadfast in your belief about yourself. You created your own strength. Don't break, ever. Don't have self-doubts. It is your confidence that amazes me. Never leave that confidence. You always find ways to bring out the best in you. We talk a lot with each other too, right? But we are there for each other. Always. Even if there is no one else, I'd be there for you... to elevate you, to think the best of you... always. Don't cry... you don't look very good. Always smile and laugh."

 After a lovely performance by Tharshika, we move back into the Bigg Boss house where the 'mirror' task is up. 

Here's each contestant, reminiscing their own journey inside the house, and talking to their mirror images... literally. 

First up, we have VJ Vishal

"Hi Nanba... when you entered the house, you were just a small actor. We entered the house to move up the ladder. You saw the real Vishal, right? You understood the distance you have to run. The cup, the title winner label... there is a lot of things above it. You are a better human being. Be strong. Be happy. Let's avoid hurting anyone consciously. The real game for Vishal begins when you leave the home. I love you."

Well, up next, we have a foot-tapping musical performance by Mahalingam and his brilliant troupe. 

Muthukumaran belts out AR Rahman's "En Kadhale" from Duet. Soundariya joins Mahalingam in singing Sean Roldan's "Thalai Kodhum". 

And now, they join Mahalingam and co in dancing their hearts out for Rajinikanth's iconic "Podhuvaaga en manasu thangam" from Murattu Kalai.

If not anything else, all these five are competitors of the highest order. It requires an immense confidence to take up these songs, and deliver it with such happiness. Give it up for 'The iconic five.'

VJ Vishal opens up about how 'well-connected' people became over the course of 100-odd days. No pun intended. 

They now talk about the infamous money suitcase task that challenged their perspective about the game. 

Vijay Sethupathi praises Muthu for being the first person to take up the task. 

Rayan questions the very fact that there was a surprising task in the 15th week. "I realised how we started looking out for each other despite this game only having one winner"

It is finally time to meet "The Iconic Five" - VJ Vishal, Rayan, Muthukumaran, Soundariya, and Pavithra. 

It is beautiful how the cheers were super loud every time each finalist stood up to talk to Vijay Sethupathi. And of course, Soundariya says the line of the show, "Earlier, I used to be happy whenever people left the show. But now, when they reentered and left, it felt sad." 
 
If the crowd noise is a good judge of who the winner would be, then the trophy might just go to Muthukumaran. But again, there is a reason why Bigg Boss tagline is "Edhirpaakaadhadha edhirpaarunga (Expect the unexpected)."

Pavithra opens up about how it is a mixed bag of emotions. "How would we leave the house that kept us together for so long?"

More former housemates talk about the first things they did when they returned home.

Anshida - When I entered the house, I came completely broken and confused. I left from here, met the person who broke my heart, and put an end to that chapter in my life. The Bigg boss house returned Anshida to me. And I feel blessed. 

Dharsha: Well... I ate a lot of Biriyani... I saw a lot of Bigg Boss episodes too. Back home, since I was alone, I was rewatching my episodes like Neelambari from Padayappa.

Jeffry: I had the tomato rice made by my amma. I realised how much I missed the Bigg Boss house. I used to call up Sathya and have conversations. Bigg Boss helped me elevate my own living standards and character. I learnt a lot more here than what I learnt in school

Ranjith: I feel like a new Ranjith. It gave me a good feel. In fact, I am approaching life like Bigg Boss tasks. I didn't leave home for almost 10 days. My son constantly told me what different I could have done inside the house. I liked those interactions with him. 

Arun Prasath: I celebrated Pongal with my family. I had a list while inside the house... I did all that, but I couldn't enjoy it fully because my head was recalling memories of Bigg Boss house. Before Bigg Boss, they used to call me Bharathi... now, they call me Arun. That was special. They liked my real persona.

The former housemates talk about the first things they did when they returned home.

Sunita: I understood the importance of my sister. I am a very pampered akka. She took care of me as my mother. I spent time with my sister.

Manjari: I renewed my equation with my father. I understood how simple it is too forget rather than forgive. It was a very happy and heartwarming moment. 

Deepak: I spent a lovely Pongal with my family. I missed the life I spent in BB house. I miss my thambi Muthukumaran. 

Tharshika: I had to pacify my mother first. But she recently told my friends that after a long time, she had a peaceful sleep. I think keeping her happy was important for me. I learnt a lot about what to do, and what not to do.

Ananthi opens up about how she consumed Season 8 as a contestant, an audience member, and back inside as a housemate with nothing to lose. She calls Jack 'the star' of the show. Interestingly, she calls it a 'toxic-free' show. Yeah, right. 

Moving on, Vijay Sethupathi talks about the negativity he faced for hosting the show. He also spoke about how evicted contestants, and their fans spoke about him, especially the negative conversations. However, understanding that these are just learnings of life as a host of Bigg Boss Season 8, VJS brushes it all off with a smile.

Raanav is candid about the good things and bad things in his journey as a Bigg Boss housemate. "This is just the initial stage of my career, and I'm glad it started off on this stage, and in your hosting..." And as always, Sethupathi cuts him right there, and cuts off for the break. LOL

"You are not a middle-bencher anymore," Vijay Sethupathi praises Jacquline's vidaamuyarchi, and perseverance. Sethupathi recalls The Karate Kid movie, and says Jacquline is a hero just for giving it her all in this fight. 

VJS reveals that he didn't expect Jacquline to go for that race, and run to get that suitcase, and expresses his pride in her decision. 

Jacquline thanks the people who supported her throughout the Bigg Boss journey, especially since she was the only contestant to have been nominated every week of the show. And it is not just a record in Bigg Boss Tamil, but across all editions of Bigg Boss India.

It was all a ploy clearly! She gets a separate and special entry that allows her to live up to the label of "Queen Jacquline".

Since she was ousted before the Bigg Boss played the special 'AV showreel' for the final contestants, Vijay Sethupathi plays her 'journey' video in front of all the contestants, the entire audience, and is clearly one of the most heartwarming and poignant videos for a contestant. 

Well done, Jacquline. But it is important that VJS addresses the elephant in the room, which is the 'unfair' eviction of Jacquline from the reality show. 

Will he? Won't he? Or will they simply move on as if it never happened. This should be interesting.

The big trophy of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8 is unveiled. The trophy that has been the target in the eyes of each contestant who left behind all their comforts to enter the Bigg Boss house. 

An interesting design that is placed at the centre of the stage, and awaits its true owner to come out and receive it in their hand... "Their precious" 

First up, Vijay Sethupathi expresses his happiness in seeing all the old contestants, and thanks them for teaching him a lot.

But wait... Jacqueline is missing from the lot.

Well, first up, each of the evicted contestants enter the stage with a lot of fanfare, dance, music, and of course, whistles and cheers. 

It is actually nice to see all of them understand that the game is over, and it is time to just spread a lot of love and affection to the house that housed them for a long time, and gave them all memories of a lifetime, and a wonderful passage into the minds of crores of Bigg Boss fans. 

And finally, Vijay Sethupathi enters the stage in a bespoke red suit, and a stylish eyewear that makes him stand out amongst an already colourful stage. 

The game is finally over. The votes are counted. The contestants are ready. The audience is ready. 

We are ready too... Welcome to SCREEN's coverage of the GRAND FINALE of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8.

And it is time to officially kickstart the grand ginale episode. It has all the makings of a cracker of a finale. Vijay Sethupathi is here. The five finalists are gearing up for the results inside the house. The evicted contestants are set to make a rather impressive song-and-dance intro, and settle down to see who among their former housemates would be crowned winner of Season 8. Will it be the strategist Muthukumaran, the charming yet fierce Soundarya, the playful and fighter VJ Vishal, the wildcard but intensely competitive Rayan, or the reticent yet surprisingly effective Pavithra Lakshmi?

And of course, we are there too, to be a companion of sorts to everyone of you, as we finish the journey that we started off 105 days back on one particularly interesting Sunday.

Another interesting aspect of the recent seasons of Bigg Boss Tamil has been the presence of 'influencers' on social media. 

Of course, it is par for the course that there are multiple people profiting off the popularity of the reality show, but it gets really interesting because this edition of Bigg Boss Tamil also had a couple of social media reviewers of the reality show making it into the show as contestants. 

Now, this would definitely create a open season for everyone who wants to find an alternate way into the hugely popular reality show. Of course, this wouldn't be the first time that non-celebrities are part of the show, but it would be rather interesting to see how the future seasons would accommodate such aspirants. 

Who wouldn't want to be a part of the popular show that has not just made many a career, but made a few infamous too. But again, all publicity is good publicity, I guess.

Season 7 was the first time a wild card contestant won the season. Archana Ravichandran made Bigg Boss Tamil history with the victory. This time around too, it was a wild card contestant (Rayan), who won the Ticket To Finale competition to become the first finalist. 

The other finalists of Season 8 are YouTuber and orator Muthukumaran, actors VJ Vishal, Pavithra Lakshmi, Rayan, and Soundarya. It was a tough road to the finale for all five and they put up a solid fight, both on physical and mental levels, to reach the grandest of stages. 

Over the past seven seasons, the winners were Arav, Riythvika, Mugen, Aari Arjunan, Mohammed Azeem, Raju and Archana. It would be interesting to see who comes up trumps today.

Of course, throughout the 105 days of Bigg Boss 18, there were many instances that need to be looked at again, but nothing was more controversial than what happened just a few days back during the money box challenge. 

We have seen eliminations of various kinds throughout the seven seasons of the popular reality show, but there was a unique elimination that reduced the 'Super Six' to 'Fabulous Five' in the final week. 

In the money box challenge, which was all about the contestant's fitness, running abilities, and quick thinking, Jacqueline, who made Bigg Boss India history by being the only contestant to have been nominated every single week till the end, failed to ace the task, and was eliminated. Interestingly, Jacqueline, who always made it back into the competition due to the support from the audience watching the reality show, was eliminated without them having a say in the proceedings. 

Her exit created quite the furore as people started criticising the showrunners for pushing one of the strongest contestants out of the race. They insinuated favouritism. On the other hand, many others argued that it was an endurance test, and she could have given up halfway, or even backed off from participating in it in the first place. 

All said and done, it was one of the most controversial exits ever from a reality show, which, in its previous seasons, even had a contestant scale the boundary walls to escape from the show.

Another controversy that became a talking point in the last phase of Bigg Boss Tamil was the discussion about housemates using PR outside the house. 

In fact, this became such a normal occurrence that the conversation surrounding PRs were not about accepting or denying it, but about who has the better purchase power. It was also about how these PR campaigns weren't just about propping up their clients but also putting down their fellow contestants. This resulted in a lot of bad blood among netizens who were religiously following Bigg Boss. What happened through this was one of the most closely contested but equally disputed and disruptive social media campaigns that didn't do well for the sanctity of the game. 

However, it was a seemingly good thing that these conversations didn't really disturb the gameplay of the contestants, who genuinely strategized their way to the final week.

Interestingly enough, the controversy surrounding Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8 started right on Day 1. With the house itself divided into 'Boys' vs 'Girls', it led to an intriguing setup among the contestants, who were at loggerheads right from Day 1. And if that wasn't enough, Vijay Sethupathi announced that there would be an elimination on Day 1, which would be decided by the housemates themselves. 

With every contestant walking in with dreams and aspirations, it was a very distraught start to the reality show as every contestant tried to defend their place in the show, and finally, ousted Sachana on a unanimous vote. 

There were also other interesting game plays in Bigg Boss season 8 with nomination-free passes, house-swapping becoming an integral part of the house.

First up, let's take a quick recap of the 105 days of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8. The show started with the entry of 18 contestants — Muthukumaran, Jacquline, Jeffry, Deepak, Pavithra Lakshmi, Arnav, VJ Vishal, Sachana, Tharshika, Arun Prasath, Soundarya, Ranjith, Sunita, RJ Ananthi, Sathya, Dharsha, and Ravindar.

This edition of the show was also probably one of its most populated because it also had six wild card contestants — Riya, Rayan, Raanav, Varshini, Manjari, and Shivakumar. 

In fact, for some random reason, Vijay TV brought back the eliminated contestants and filled up the Bigg Boss house, and the last week was bustling with housemates, and it also opened up a can of worms about various controversies that erupted when the housemates, equipped with the knowledge of people's perception, ruffled quite a few feathers.

According to the promos shared by Vijay TV, the finale would feature dance numbers from Season 8 contestants like Sunita, Tharshika, and Anshida. 

Another interesting promo video was about how the final five stand in front of a set of mirrors where they look at themselves and trace their own journey over the past 100-odd days. Motivating. Inspiring. And most importantly, introspective.

What a ride it has been so far! And all for this one day. 

And here it is... Day 106 where 24 contestants come down to that ONE name who would be part of Tamil television history as the winner of the eighth season of Bigg Boss Tamil.

In just a couple of hours, it would be time for the start of the GRAND FINALE of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8. It was a season of newer things, novel ideas, and a brand new host at the centre of it all. With Kamal Haasan taking a break from hosting Bigg Boss after seven seasons of being the moral compass of the show, it was time for Vijay Sethupathi to take up the responsibilities for the first time. 

Right from Day 1, it was not an easy task for the makers of the show to live up to the heights of the previous seven seasons, but they managed to hit all the right notes, as the eighth season is finally coming to a close after 105 days of happiness, sadness, evictions, controversies, and everything else.
