Ashika Ranganath joins star-studded cast of PS Mithran-Karthi’s Sardar 2

On the occasion of Ashika’s birthday, Prince Pictures, the makers of Sardar 2, announced the news of her being part of the much-anticipated sequel. Apart from Ashika, who made her debut in Tamil with the Atharvaa-starrer Pattathu Arasan, Sardar 2 also features SJ Suryah and Malavika Mohanan in pivotal roles. Considering how both the father-son duo played by Karthi are still at large, it is clear that we will see the return of the elder Sardar aka Agent Chandrabose, and the son Vijay in the sequel. However, we aren’t sure if Vijay’s love interest Shalini, played by Raashi Khanna, is part of Sardar 2. 

With music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, Sardar 2 will be shot by George C Williams, and edited by Vijay Velukutty. This is the second sequel in the pipeline for Karthi, who is set to reunite with Lokesh Kanagaraj for Kaithi 2, which is part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe that includes films like Vikram and Leo. Kaithi 2 is speculated to be Lokesh’s next after he finishes Coolie with Rajinikanth.

Meanwhile, Karthi is awaiting the release of 96 director C Premkumar’s Meiyazhagan, and Nalan Kumarasamy’s Vaa Vaathiyaar.
