Marathi actor Santosh Juvekar has signed composer-directorAvdhoot Gupte’s next directorial venture, titled Ek Tara. Apparently, he will be seen playing a rockstar who attains success after a long struggle.
Confirming this, the actor, however, said that his role is not on the lines of Ranbir Kapoor’s Rockstar, but has a completely different story. “I had to work a lot on my looks and language to make my character look more authentic. I had to even learn to strum the guitar for the film,” Santosh said, adding that the film was shot entirely in Mumbai and ND Studios in Karjat. The film is in post-production stage, and will release in Diwali. It stars Tejasvini Pandit, new find Urmila Nimbalkar and Amole Gupte. Though this is Juvekar’s third film with Gupte, after Zenda and Morya, he had to audition for the role. This character would be a challenge for Santosh as he will display a soft and sensitive character in the film.
Juvekar, who was seen in the recently-released Hindi film Dekh Tamasha Dekh, has two Marathi releases Rege and Nil D’Souza Parat Alay in the coming months.
