“Kathe (idiot),” Priya calls Manu, as affectionately as always, when we begin listening to Side B of the Sapta Sagaradaache Ello cassette. Twenty days ahead of the release of the much-anticipated sequel to the acclaimed and successful Kannada romantic drama Sapta Sagaradaache Ello (Side A), which hit the screens in September this year, a new teaser offers glimpses of how Priya and Manu’s lives have changed in the past 10 years.
The 65-second teaser picks up precisely where the first part concluded, with Priya flipping the cassette to continue recording her message for Manu, who is in jail. Accompanied by the sound of Manu’s power loom in the background, the promo video showcases a sequence of shots from Side A, evoking our memories of the first film.
“As soon as you are released from jail, I have planned a grand celebration,” Priya begins to narrate to Manu on the cassette, as he rests on the terrace of a building situated by a roadside. The teaser also skilfully incorporates Priya’s dialogues in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu, as the movie is set to be released in these languages, in addition to the original Kannada version.
Helmed by Hemanth M Rao, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello (Side B) features Rukmini Vasanth and Rakshit Shetty reprising their roles as Priya and Manu from the first film. The movie’s ensemble cast also includes Chaithra J Achar, Achyuth Kumar, Pavitra Lokesh, Avinash and Sharath Lohithaswa.
Bankrolled by Rakshit himself under the banner of Paramvah Studios, Sapta Sagaradaache Ello’s soundtrack and background score have been composed by Charan Raj. While the first part hit the screens on September 1, the second instalment will be released on November 17.
