Former actor and co-owner of T-Series, Krishan Kumar,  lost his 21-year-old daughter, Tishaa Kumar to cancer on Thursday. Tishaa was laid to rest on Monday in Vile Parle and despite heavy rains, many celebrities from the Hindi film industry came to pay their last respects.

Seen among the mourners were actors Riteish Deshmukh and Saiee Manjrekar, along with filmmaker Farah Khan, director Sajid Khan, and members of the Nadiadwala family. Even Salman Khan’s trusted bodyguard and head of security, Shera, offered his condolences. Actor Jaaved Jaaferi also paid his respects to the departed soul. Bhushan Kumar, Divya Khosla Kumar and Kushalli Kumar were also seen at the funeral.

Tishaa’s untimely passing at the young age of 21, sent shockwaves through the industry. The Indian Express had earlier reported, “Tishaa was diagnosed with cancer and the family decided to take her to Germany for treatment. She passed away there on Thursday. It is a very sad time for the family.” One of Trishaa’s last public appearances was in November 2023, when she attended the screening of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptti Dimri, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol. The film was produced by T-Series.

Following her demise, T-Series released a statement requesting privacy for the grieving family during this difficult time. The statement read, “Tishaa Kumar, daughter of Krishan Kumar, passed away yesterday after a prolonged battle with an illness. This is difficult time for the family, and we kindly request that family’s privacy is respected.”

Krishan Kumar, Tishaa’s father, took over the reins of T-Series after the demise of his brother Gulshan Kumar in 1997.
