For celebrities, it is difficult to live in the public eye and under constant scrutiny when cameras pan on them the minute they step out of their homes. With the paparazzi culture becoming a norm, it is increasingly becoming harder for celebrities to protect their privacy, especially, if you’re a female celeb. Pictures and videos, highlighting their body parts often grab eyeballs on social media. Nora Fatehi, who is constantly being papped, and often trolled on the internet, opened up about the ‘objectification’ of female celebrities by media and paparazzi and spoke about how many, like her are often being papped in a certain way that is not graceful.

“I guess they’ve never seen a bu*t like that before. It is what it is. The media doesn’t just do it to me but to other female actors also. Maybe they don’t zoom into their bu*t because it’s not exciting but they zoom into their other body parts unnecessarily. Sometimes, I think that there’s nothing to zoom into, so what are they focusing on?” Nora told  News18 Showsha.

Over the last few years, rumours about the Madgaon Express going under the knife, citing plastic surgery as the reason for her transformation, have been reported in the media. However, Nora, who is known for her graceful dance moves, refuted the speculation. She asserted that despite her body being a topic of discussion,  she doesn’t let the conversation affect her. “These are unfortunately the things that trend on social media. They’re just playing the social media algorithm game. I’m blessed with a [good] body and I’m proud of it and my assets. I’m not ashamed of it (sic),” says the Street Dancer 3D actor.

Commenting on the growing paparazzi culture, which seems to invade celebs’ privacy while often focusing on women’s body parts when clicking pictures, Nora said the intention of the photographers’ behind such shots is wrong.  “Their intention (photographers) behind zooming in is maybe wrong but that’s a separate conversation. I can’t grab each person and teach them a lesson. But I still move around the way I move and I’m very confident in my body,” she added.

Time and again, celebs like Mrunal Thakur and Palak Tiwari have called out such behaviour when they were clicked from behind even after requesting the paparazzi not to.

Nora, who was recently seen in Kunal Kemmu’s directorial, which featured Pratik Gandhi, Avinash Tiwary and Divyenndu in leading roles, also spoke about her being perceived as an ‘eye candy’ because of her glamorous personality and appearance.  “I feel both beauty and ignorance is in the eye of the beholder. A lot of the people I’m working with appreciate my story, how I came up, what I brought to the industry and my brand. Some people may not know much about me and it may take some time for them to break the ice. But anyone who I’ve worked with has always come out having a lot of respect for me and I appreciate that. They know that I’m very serious about what I do and my work ethic is top-notch,” she added
