The first on-screen collaboration between superstar Shah Rukh Khan and his son Aryan Khan was learning experience for the latter, who says shooting with his father was an easy process as the actor makes everything smooth on set.
Earlier this week, Shah Rukh and Aryan featured in an ad for the streetwear brand D’yavol X, cofounded by the debutant. The ad was helmed by Aryan. In an interview with Bazaar India, Aryan was asked if teaming up with his superstar father was challenging, to which he replied that Shah Rukh brings in a lot of comfort on a set.
“Working with my father is never challenging, because, with his experience and dedication, he makes everyone’s job easier on set. He also makes the entire crew feel at ease and has tremendous respect for everyone. When he’s on set I always make sure to pay extra attention, so I don’t miss out on anything I can learn,” he said.
Aryan said Shah Rukh, much like everyone associated with the project, shared inputs and he heard his ideas for the shoot. “Of course, he did (share inputs), and everyone involved in the project gave their input in some way. And it is important to at least listen to them because filmmaking is a collaborative effort. If my dad’s input is different from mine, and if both seem valid, you can always shoot it both ways; but don’t tell my producer.”
When asked what was the first thing that Shah Rukh and Gauri told him when they saw the ad, Aryan replied, “They asked me to keep some pieces from the collection aside for them, in case it sells out. I am still considering their request.”
On the film front, Shah Rukh is currently awaiting the release of his next feature Jawan. The film, directed by Atlee, is scheduled to release on June 2.
