Abhishek Bachchan is looking forward to his next release Ghoomer where he plays a cricket coach and during the promotions of the R Balki directorial, the actor was asked about his mother Jaya Bachchan’s performance in her latest film Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Jaya played the head of the family in the film who rules with an iron fist but can’t keep the family united.
He added that he can watch his wife Aishwarya Rai and father Amitabh Bachchan’s work as an individual, but not his mother’s. “Like with Aishwarya and with Dad, I can look upon their work. With Mom, it’s just an emotion. I am a terrible judge of her work,” he said.
Abhishek said that he wants the “two ladies” of his house – wife Aishwarya Rai and mom Jaya Bachchan – to work more. He said, “The one thing I can say to the two ladies in my family is I hope and I pray that they do more work. Because as viewers of cinema, both Aishwarya and Mom, I think have already contributed so much but there’s so much more to give now. And I really do hope as a fan that we get to see both of them do a lot more work.”
Jaya returned to the cinemas after a long gap for Karan Johar’s film. Aishwarya was last seen in Ponniyin Selvan 2 which released earlier this year.
His upcoming film Ghoomer also stars Saiyami Kher and releases in theatres on August 18.
