The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on April 16 announced the final results for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2023. Those who appeared for UPSC CSE can check their result from the official website, upsconline.nic.in and upsc.gov.in. This year, as many as 1,016 candidates are shortlisted. Aditya Srivastava, Animesh Pradhan, Donuru Ananya Reddy have been placed at the first, second and third spots this year.
Let’s look at some past years’ toppers and their cadres.
The year supported the growing trend of female candidates getting the maximum positions with the top three women toppers. Ishita Kishore, the topper of 2022 scored 1094 marks and is presently deputed in her home cadre, Uttar Pradesh. The other two candidates, Garima Lohia who scored 1063 is deputed in Bihar and Uma Harathin is presently in Telangana. She scored 1060 marks in UPSC CSE 2022.

The results of 2021 also saw all women toppers with Shruti Sharma receiving 1105 marks, Ankita Agarwal 1050 in her final results, and Gamini Singla 1045 marks. Sharma and Singla are posted in Uttar Pradesh while Agarwal is posted in West Bengal.
All India Rank 1 Shubham Gupta with 1072 as final scores is posted in his home cadre Bihar while the other two toppers, Jagrati Awasthi and Ankita Jain are both positioned in Uttar Pradesh. Awasthi scored 1052 marks while Jain scored 1051 marks.
Born and brought up in a Haryana farm community, Pradeep Singh was the topper of the year with 1072 scores. He is allocated his home cadre. Jatin Kishore opted for AGMUT and scored 1063 in CSE while the third topper Pratibha Sharma scored 1062 in her final results and is deputed in Rajasthan.
Being a data scientist Kanishak Kataria prepared for the civil service examination and scored the highest marks in the year. He scored 1121 and is currently posted in Rajasthan. Akshat Jain and Junaid Ahmad were the other two topper candidates scoring 1080 and 1077 respectively. Jain is posted in Madhya Pradesh while Ahmad is posted in Uttar Pradesh.
Securing the top rank after five unsuccessful attempts, Anudeep Durishetty scored the highest mark 1126. First, he was posted in Manipur and then was transferred to Bihar. The rank two Anu Kumari with 1124 scores is posted in Bihar. The third topper Sachin Gupta is posted in Uttarakhand. He scored 1122 in the CSE.
Nandini KR posted in Karnataka scored 1120 marks while the second topper Anmol Sher Singh Bedi opted for Indian Foreign Service and was a member of the permanent mission of India to conference on disarmament. Gopalkrishna Ronakini scored 1102 and is posted in Andhra Pradesh.
Cracking the CSE in her first attempt and that too with a top score, Tina Dabi who is posted in Rajasthan scored 1063. The second topper Athar Aamir scored 1018 and is posted as district magistrate in Kashmir’s Kulgam. The third topper Jasmeet Singh Sandhu also posted in Rajasthan scored 1014 in the final UPSC result.
A spin-related disorder did not stop Ira Singhal from being the topper and highest scorer of the year. Singhal, an inspiration for many, scored 1082 and opted for AGMUT cadres. Posted in Kerala, all India second ranker Renu Raj scored 1056 and the third topper Nidhi Gupta scored 1025 is posted in Haryana.
