NTA UGC NET Result 2024 Highlights: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on February 22 has released the UGC NET December 2024 results and final answer keys for the December 2024 session on its official website — ugcnet.nta.ac.in. The results were declared late at night along with the cut-off for all subjects.
There will be no re-evaluation or re-checking of the UGC NET result. The UGC NET December 2024 result will be compiled on the basis of the final answer key released. If a question is found to be incorrect or ambiguous or has multiple correct answers, only those candidates who have attempted the question and chosen one of the correct answers would be given the credit. And for the incorrect or dropped questions, if any, two marks (+2) will be awarded to only those candidates who have attempted the question. The UGC NET December 2025 exam was held for 85 subjects in total between January 3 and 27 over nine days.
The provisional answer keys of UGC NET released on January 31 could be challenged by February 3, 2025. Once scorecards are out, candidates can check them through application number, date of birth and captcha code.
The record of UGC NET December 2024 will be preserved for up to 90 days from the date of declaration of the UGC NET December 2024 result. The UGC NET is held twice a year, in June and December, for the appointment of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professorship, and admissions to PhD programmes.

The UGC NET December 2024 was conducted between January 3 to January 27 over nine days in 16 shifts at 558 exam centres in 266 cities for 8,49,166 candidates. The mode of examination was Computer Based Test (CBT) format.
Of the 8,49,166 candidates registering for the exam, as many as 6,49,490 candidates appeared. While only 5,158 candidates qualified for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professorship, as many as 48,161 candidates qualified for Assistant Professorship, and admissions to PhD and 1,14,445 candidates qualified for PhD only.

The UGC NET December 2024 result is out. Candidates can download and access the scorecards at ugcnet.ac.in.
The public examinations in the Act refer to examinations conducted by authorities notified by the central government. These include the Union Public Service Commission, Staff Selection Commission, Railway Recruitment Board, National Testing Agency, Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, and Departments of the central government and their attached offices for recruitment.
The Public Examinations Act also prohibits disclosing exam-related confidential information before time, and unauthorised people from entering exam centres to create disruptions. The offences will be punishable with imprisonment between three and five years, and a fine up to Rs 10 lakh.
As per the UGC policy, 6 per cent of those candidates who appear in both the papers and obtain minimum qualifying marks in aggregate of both the papers will be declared NET qualified.

According to the UGC NET December 2024 marking scheme, each question carried two marks and no negative marks would be cut for incorrect responses. Questions unanswered, un-attempted or marked for review would also not fetch any marks. More than 6,49,490 candidates participated in the UGC NET December 2024 exam, resulting in an overall attendance rate of 76.5 per cent. The exam took place in two shifts across 284 cities.
