UGC approves Rs 37 crore as assistance to University

A release from the Assistant Registrar of the University K Mahesh said on Thursday that the expert committee of the UGC had assessed the financial requirement of the University to ensure capital assets and infrastructures.

University Grants Commission (UGC) has approved of a grant of Rs 37 crore for Pondicherry University for the current academic year. A release from the Assistant Registrar of the University K Mahesh said on Thursday that the expert committee of the UGC had assessed the financial requirement of the University to ensure capital assets and infrastructures.

The allocation would be used for construction of buildings for the Lab and Lecture Halls in Department of Physics and additional infrastructure facilities for the Department of Biotechnology, the release said.
