JEE Advanced 2023: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2023 will be conducted on June 4. Students who qualified the JEE Main 2023 exam — held in January and April — will be appearing for the JEE Advanced 2023. The admit cards for the same were released on May 29.
The indianexpress.com spoke to JEE Main toppers and asked them how they are preparing for JEE Advanced 2023.
Most students complete the syllabus for JEE Advanced somewhere around January before the JEE Main. They then revise for JEE Main till the exams are held and then the revision for JEE Advanced begins. Students who appeared for the second session of JEE Main 2023 got around one-and-a-half months to prepare completely for JEE Advanced 2023.
How are they preparing for JEE Advanced 2023
“I am sticking to sheets I got from my coaching institute including previous years’ question paper, solved papers and modules,” says Ridhi Maheshwari, the girl topper in JEE Main 2023. She added that she also does a daily revision of class notes and keeps a track of her mistakes so that she doesn’t repeat them.
Ishan Khandelwal, another 100 percentile scorer of JEE Main 2023 said, “I study every day, so that I am never out of practice. I solve previous year question papers and modules given by my coaching as well. NCERT is a must.”
Tanish Khurana, one of the students to get 100 percentile in JEE Main 2023 says, “Since the syllabus is complete, now I regularly revise with mock tests, worksheets, study material which has been provided by my coaching. Also, I also regularly revise from NCERT.”

Music in any form is a great stress reliever for students. Other than that students indulge in playing a sport either with friends or siblings, going on walks, watching some content over YouTube and more.
Advice for fellow students
The one key advice which is common from all toppers was NCERT is a must and shall be revised regularly. Other than that, students should do regular revision.
Maheshwari who has been preparing for JEE since Class 11 says, consistency is the key to success and hard work is important. Students should revise whatever has been taught in class and make sure that they don’t repeat the same mistakes again.”
“Pay attention to your weak areas and appear for the paper with a calm and composed attitude,” says Khandelwal.
Session 1 topper, Kaushal Vijay said, “No topic shall be left for later, if there are doubts regarding any topic, work on it while studying for it.”
