JEE Toppers’ Tips: After scoring a 100 percentile in the JEE Main 2023, Ishan Khandelwal is all focused to crack JEE Advanced 2023. Son of a government school principal and a homemaker, Khandelwal has a keen interest in Mathematics and Computer Science.
He shares how he secured 100 percentile in JEE Main 2023 with indianexpress.com.
Which course do you want to pursue?
I have a very deep interest in Mathematics and Computer Science and therefore I want to pursue either Mathematics and Computing at Indian Institute of Science Bangalore or Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. I also wish to study Computer Science Engineering and if I get a good rank, I would choose IIT Bombay or IIT-Delhi.
Why do you want to become an engineer?
Most of my cousins are software engineers. Through them, I got to know about this field and why IITs are considered the best varsity to pursue higher studies. I always had an interest in Mathematics and wanted to pursue the same for my higher education.
My study schedule
I have joined Allen, Jaipur for my preparation. Earlier I used to stay in Dausa and it was 50 kilometers far from my place. My parents and I relocated to Jaipur for my preparation. I am currently preparing for JEE Advanced.
I wake up around 7 am and study nearly 12 hours a day. After waking up I complete my morning routine and start studying by 8 am. The time until I study varies. Since the course is complete we don’t have our usual coaching classes. I sleep by 12:30 am.
How do I revise?
I study every day, so that I am never out of practice. I have solved previous year question papers and Allen modules. NCERT is a must.
Books I referred to
Apart from NCERT and coaching modules, I referred to Irodov for Physics, MS Chouhan for Organic Chemistry, Narendra Awasthi for Physical Chemistry and Vikas Gupta for Mathematics.
My advice for students appearing
NCERT is a must. Pay attention to your weak sections and attempt the paper with a cool and calm mind.
