Schools to open in hybrid mode in Gurugram, Faridabad due to pollution

On November 25, online classes will be conducted in all government and private schools of Gurugram district.

With the air quality still in the ‘severe’ category, the Deputy Commissioner Gurugram has announced closure of all schools upto class 12 till November 25 (Monday). As per the official notification issued by the DC Gurugram, the decision has been taken keeping in mind that the air quality is still not at the adequate level.

“As the Air Quality Index (AQI) levels in almost all Urban & Rural parts of district Gurugram is in severe category, therefore, in the interest of the health and safety of the children, it has been decided that in continuation of order no. 5483-86 dated 18.11.2024 of this office, all physical classes for students upto Class 12th will remain discontinued till 25.11.2024 in all areas (urban as well as rural) of District Gurugram, Online classes will be conducted in lieu of physical classes, in all Government & Private Schools in ‘Gurugram for above mentioned classes,” an official notice by DC Gurugram stated.

However, students should take notice that on November 25, online classes will be conducted in all government and private schools of Gurugram district.

Meanwhile, a similar order was issued by Faridabad DC Vikram Singh. “All physical classes for students up to Class 12 will remain closed till November 25,” read the order.

Additionally, schools in Noida have also received a similar order. “In view of the instructions given by the District Magistrate, Gautam Buddha Nagar on November 18, regarding the discontinuation of physical classes from pre-school to class 12 due to the breach of Air Quality Index (AQI) of Delhi-NCR to Severe+ category with (450+AQI), all schools of the District Gautam Buddh Nagar are directed to follow the above order till November 25,” read an order issued by Dharamvir Singh, District Inspector of Schools (DIOS).
