The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken over five cases pertaining to alleged malpractices in NEET-UG in from Bihar, Gujarat and Rajasthan, the officials said on Monday.
They said the probe agency has re-registered one case from Gujarat and Bihar each, and three cases from Rajasthan as its own FIR, reported PTI. The agency is also likely to take over one more case from Maharashtra’s Latur.

Apart from the one in Bihar, the four other cases appear to be isolated incidents of cheating and impersonation by local officials, invigilators and candidates,PTI reported the central agency officials as saying.

On Sunday, the CBI registered a criminal case while the National Testing Agency (NTA) sent show-cause notices threatening debarment to 17 candidates in Patna, based on the report sent to the Centre by the Bihar Police’s Economic Offences Unit.
