NEET PG 2024: Almost 13 days after the NEET PG exam was cancelled, the revised exam date of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, Postgraduate (NEET PG) is announced on July 5. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will now conduct the NEET PG exam on August 11. NEET PG 2024 will be held in two shifts.

NBEMS postponed the exam scheduled for June 23 as a ‘precautionary measure’ amid allegations of irregularities in the recent competitive examinations. Around two lakh MBBS graduates take NEET PG every year for around 52,000 postgraduation seats across the country.

The exam, according to the board, was cancelled as the Ministry wanted to check the robustness of the exam process and also wanted to make sure that there is no vulnerability in the process.

The NBE Chief Dr Abhijat Sheth also said that the Ministry wanted to make sure that miscreants do not take undue advantages of the vulnerability of the NEET PG applicants at a time when NTA exam cancellations had scared the Indian students.

NEET PG 2024 was first scheduled to be held on March 3, then postponed to July 7. However, the NEET PG exam date was advanced to June 23 due to general elections.

The cut-off date for the purpose of eligibility to appear in the NEET PG 2024 remains the same – August 15, 2024.

Meanwhile, the NMC has also introduced the “Post-Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023,” mandating that all rounds of NEET PG counselling for every seat will be conducted through online mode by state or central counselling authorities
