Commerce and allied courses continue to remain more popular. Dr. Madhav Rajwade, principal of Sathaye College, said, "There is no dip in cut-off of first merit list in comparison to last year, especially in commerce and allied courses where at least 10 students are competing for one seat."
With slight changes, cut-offs in first merit lists of various city colleges remain high for degree admissions.
Principal of H R College, Dr. Pooja Ramchandani, said, "Cut-offs for self-financed professional courses such BMS, BBI, BFM are higher than traditional courses, indicating tougher competition to grab seats in such courses. Students should not go by the popular trends but think about individual interests and abilities."

Hinduja college releases first merit list for all UG courses
In the first merit list released by R A Podar College, the cut-off for BMS is between 96.8% to 69.83% across all categories

The Mumbai University has decided to deploy women security guards in all its hostels round the clock. The decision has been taken following the alleged rape and murder of a boarder by a watchman at a girls’ hostel in Mumbai recently.
