JEE Mains 2025 Updates: Topics asked, exam analysis, experts review

Many students found the Physics section easy. Topics such as Mechanics, Current Electricity, Optics, Modern Physics, and Waves were well-represented. However, questions from AC, EMI, and Magnetism were notably absent. The inclusion of some PYQs (previous year questions) provided familiarity for prepared students.

Chemistry

The paper covered all chapters uniformly. While most questions were manageable, a few theory-based questions were confusing. Topics like Electrochemistry, Kinetics, p-block, d-block, Thermodynamics, and Biomolecules featured prominently. Overall, the section offered balanced representation.

Mathematics

The Mathematics section ranged from moderate to difficult. Though the questions were not overly challenging, some questions involved lengthy calculations. Key topics included Probability, Matrices, Algebra, Calculus, Vectors, Coordinate Geometry, 3D, and Calculus being dominant. The paper was comprehensive, covering almost all important chapters. For many students, Mathematics appeared time-consuming, but balanced in coverage.

In the morning shift, calculations were lengthy, however the paper was of medium level. 35 percent questions were asked from Calculus, Coordinates, 9 percent questions were asked from Statistics and Relations and 6 percent questions were asked from 3D Vectors.

NTA which started the first session of the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) today has revised one exam centre in Bengaluru due to unavoidable reason of technical snag. The reschedule will likely impact over 100 candidates. The exams for these candidates will be held on January 28/ 29, NTA said. These candidates will be issued with fresh admit cards.

The second shift of JEE Main 2025 day 1 exam will be held from 3 pm to 6 pm. Candidates will have to deposit the admit cards at the drop box after the end of exam.

According to the academic desk of Vidyamandir Classes, the JEE Main paper in the morning session was easy to moderate. Chemistry was well-balanced, with physical, organic, and inorganic chemistry topics being almost equally represented. A significant portion of the chemistry was aligned with NCERT, and questions did not come from the deleted topics in the NCERT syllabus.

According to students who appeared for the paper on the first session, told the indianexpress.com that the BTech/BE paper was moderate to difficult.

Last year, the overall difficulty was moderate to difficult. In 2024, the number of 100 percentilers had increased by 13 candidates in comparison to 2023 as a total of 56 candidates have received 100 NTA score in Paper 1 (BE/BTech).

The first shift of JEE Main is over. Students had to mandatorily deposit the admit cards at the drop box.

The JEE Main day 1 exam is held in two shifts, first from 9 am to 12 noon and the second shift between 3 pm and 6 pm.

JEE Main 2025 admit card can be downloaded from the official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates will have to carry the JEE Main admit card mandatorily.

Items including instrument or geometry, pencil box, handbag, purse, any kind of paper, stationery, textual material, eatables and water, mobile phone, ear phone, microphone, pager, calculator, docupen, slide rules, log tables, camera, tape recorder and metallic item or electronic gadgets, devices will not be allowed inside the JEE Main exam centre.

NTA has revised one exam centre in UAE. JEE Main will be held across the country in multiple centres and 15 cities outside India.

Aspirants allotted Scholars Training Institute, 902-903 Belresheed Tower, 1, NMC Healthcare Building, Buhaira Corniche, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, 4472 will now have to appear at Scholar Training Institute, 1501-1502, The First Tower, Alkhan street, Al Majaz – 3, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, Pincode – 50001. According to NTA, the change is due to ‘unavoidable circumstances’.
