JEE Main 2024 Session 2 Updates: When is the city slip releasing?

The Gujarat government told the legislative assembly that more than 44 per cent seats in various engineering colleges, including self-financed institutes, in the state, which comes to more than 62,000 seats, remained vacant in 2023.

The city intimation slip will be released soon, while the admit cards will be released three days before the start of JEE Main 2024, i.e., by April 1. Result for April session of JEE Main 2024 will be declared on April 25.

The JEE Main session 2 exams will be held from April 4 to April 15.

Jamia Millia Islamia has introduced multiple self-financed courses in BTech. The admissions will be done on the basis of JEE Main marks. Among the new courses are BTech in Electrical & Computer Engineering, BTech in Electronics (VLSI design and Technology) and BTech in Computer Science & Engineering (Data Sciences).

This year, the NTA has also released the percentile of candidates appearing in various shifts of JEE Main 2024 between January 27 and February 1.

NTA will release the JEE Main 2024 session 2 admit card three days prior to the date of exam. JEE Main session 2 exams will be held from April 4 to 15.

IIT Madras is in the process of finalising a second abroad campus after Abu Dhabi. IIT Madras Director on February said that the institute will soon conduct a “feasibility study” to set up a campus in Sri Lanka. 

• The JEE Main admit cards will not be sent by post.
• In no case, the duplicate admit card for the JEE Main 2024 will be issued at the examination centres.
• The candidates must not mutilate the JEE Main admit card or change any entry made therein.
• Candidates are advised to preserve their admit cards in good condition for future reference.
• JEE Main admit card will not be issued to the candidates whose applications are found to be incomplete for any reasons (including indistinct/ doubtful photographs/unsigned applications) or who do not fulfill the eligibility criteria for the examination.

Candidates appearing for JEE Main 2024 in the second session will also have to undergo frisking and biometric attendance after toilet breaks as well. 

“The move is aimed at ensuring there are no cases of use of unfair means or proxy attendance. We have strict mechanisms in place already but the idea is to make the exam completely foolproof to ensure there are zero incidents,” NTA Director Subodh Kumar Singh said.

This year, an unprecedented 12.5 lakh students participated in the session 1 exam held in January. To put this into perspective, those at the 99 to 100 percentile alone amounts to 12,000 individuals. Consequently, projections indicate that only candidates scoring above the 91st percentile are likely to secure a qualifying position.

The first and foremost thing that you should do is analyse your previous attempt. Identify the areas where you lacked and the topics that need more attention. Evaluate your strengths and weaknesses, and accordingly plan your preparation.

Focus on conceptual understanding
In JEE, you will be tested on your conceptual understanding of the topics. Therefore, focus on understanding the concepts rather than just memorising the formulas. Solve problems of varying difficulty levels to strengthen your understanding.

The decision of the NTA regarding the allotment of the JEE Main exam centre city will be final. No further correspondence or request will be entertained in such a case, NTA said while releasing the JEE Main 2024 information brochure.
