JEE Main 2024 Analysis: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the third day of the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main 2024) session 2 exam. The entrance examination which started on April 4 will continue till April 12. The JEE Main BTech and BE paper or paper 1 are held today in two slots, from 9 am to 12 noon, and between 3 pm and 6 pm. The first shift of the exam held today had an easy physics paper, moderate math paper and an easy to moderate chemistry paper, Ramesh Batlish, Head-FIITJEE Noida Centres said.
According to the FIITJEE head, the mathematics paper was moderate. Questions were asked from all chapters with emphasis on chapters on algebra and calculus. The numerical section had lengthy calculations from chapters of calculus and coordinate geometry. A few questions were reported as lengthy and tricky, Batlish said.
The difficulty level of the physics paper in the first shift was easy, he added. Numerical-based questions although lengthy were easy. Few fact-based questions from Class 12 chapters of NCERT were also asked.
The chemistry paper was easy to moderate. Organic chemistry was given more weightage compared to inorganic and physical chemistry and some fact-based questions from NCERT were asked, the FIITJEE head said.
As per the JEE Main 2024 exam day guidelines, students were asked to take a print of the downloaded copy of JEE Main admit card to the exam centres. Also, the candidates have to authenticate their attendance in the exam centre through their aadhaar card or a valid government ID with a photograph. For authentication through non-aadhaar options, NTA said, candidate were required to reach the exam centre one hour earlier than other candidates to get their biometrics recorded at the exam centre.
The candidate should make sure that the question paper available on the computer screen is as per his/her opted subject and medium indicated in the admit card.
The candidates who appeared for the test on April 4 and April 5 found the paper moderate to difficult. While some said that the difficulty level was similar to that of the January level, many others found it more difficult. According to expert analysis, the questions were from the CBSE curriculum and were as per the syllabus.
