IIT Patna Scholarships: There are several scholarships provided by the Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IIT Patna) to worthy and deserving students every year. The IIT Patna scholarships are in the form of college fee concessions, others come as direct benefit transfers to the students’ bank accounts.

List of scholarships and eligibility

In addition to central scheme scholarships including top class education scheme for SC UG students, national fellowship for PG ST students and scholarships for UG and PG ST students for higher education, central sector scheme of scholarships for college and university students for UG students, Prime Minister’s scholarships scheme for RPF (Railway Protection Force)/ RPSF (Railway Protection Special Force), Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles for UG students and merit-cum-means based scholarship for students belonging to the minority communities to pursue professional and technical courses for UG and PG students, IIT Patna also offers state scheme scholarships, UGC scheme scholarship, institute scheme scholarship and academic excellence awards or donor scholarships.

1. UGC Scheme Scholarship

Under the ISHAN UDAY scholarship for UG students, scholarships are provided to students from northeastern region. The objective of this scholarship is to provide equal equal opportunities for higher studies in northeast region and to focus more on professional education in NE region.

2. Institute scheme scholarship

IIT Patna gives merit cum means scholarships to the meritorious and needy students. A UG student or 2 year MSc programme student are provided the merit cum means scholarship.

3. Academic excellence awards and donor scholarships

– Shri Kedar Nath Das Memorial Award: The best fourth year UG student in the CSE department for outstanding all round performance, excellent organisational abilities and leadership qualities are awarded with the Shri Kedar Nath Das Memorial Award. Names are recommended by the CSE department.

– Shri Jagdish Nath Tripathi Memorial Scholarship: The best first-year UG student of the civil and environmental engineering department of the institute, admitted through JEE, who shall have CPI 8.00 or above in the 2nd semester, shall be considered for the scholarship.
