IIIT-Delhi launches MTech (Research) programme in CSE

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT Delhi) today announced the launch of its new Master of Technology (Research) programme in CSE. Candidates can apply on the official website— iiitd.ac.in/admission/mtech/2023.

The programme is open to students with a BE or BTech in CSE, IT, ECE, EE or an MCA or an MSc in Mathematics or Statistics with a valid GATE score.

The duration of the programme is two years and it is designed for students at pre-doctorate level to solve complex research problems in computer science and engineering relevant for industry and society.

At the end of the programme aims that the students will have comprehensive in-depth understanding of foundational topics and will be able to apply existing algorithms, models and techniques to solve research problems efficiently.

The programme will also teach students how to design, develop and evaluate new systems for novel applications as well as professional and ethical responsibility, as per the institute.

The students will get the support of up to Rs 50,000 to buy a laptop and additional contingency of up to Rs 10,000 per annum. There is a scholarship of Rs 21,000 per month to cover almost all expenses during the programme. They will also get a travel allowance at par with PhD students of the institute.

“A student of this programme will be eligible to convert to a full-time Ph.D. programme (typically after one year) with a full tuition fee refund,” read the notice. A graduate student of the programme will be eligible to pursue sponsored PhD degree from the institute with waiver on full tuition fee.
