CUET UG Result 2024 Updates: When is NTA’s CUET UG result?

A merit list will be prepared by participating Universities/ organisations. Universities will decide about their individual counselling on the basis of the scorecard of CUET UG 2024 provided by NTA. 

"The syllabus was formed after taking inputs from various stakeholders. Based on their feedback and suggestions, a composite syllabus has been prepared ensuring that it covers all essential topics and provides a balanced representation of different subject areas.

The syllabus has been aligned with national educational standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and relevance," reads NTA information bulletin.

"The CUET (UG) syllabus remains unchanged from last year. This means the candidates don't need to worry about learning new material," reads NTA information bulletin.

The National Testing Agency conducted the CUET UG 2024 exam in hybrid mode (CBT and Pen & Paper) mode on May 15, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, 24, and 29 at various examination centers located in 379 cities, including 26 cities outside India, for about 13.48 lakh candidates

The final answer keys for OMR-based exams are available in a PDF file of 219 pages, whereas CBT exam keys are available in 151 pages. The answer keys are displayed examination datewise/subject/medium. 

"These Final Answer Keys will be used for preparing the Result/ NTA Scores for the CUET (UG) – 2024. The Result/NTA Scores for the CUET (UG) – 2024 will be released soon," NTA said in an official notice.

“My preparation for CUET was pretty much similar to that of CBSE Class 12 board exams as the syllabus was the same. Therefore, I covered most of the CUET UG syllabus during my boards preparation. Yet, we had some deleted portions which I covered after boards got over. I just focused on NCERTs,” said the girl who scored 97.4 per cent in Class 12.

“I did make notes for all the subjects. My notes were very direct and I ended up jotting the entire NCERT text into my notebooks because writing and then learning works for me. Yet, for revision I only stuck to reading directly from NCERTs. By the time of my examination, I had read the NCERT multiple times and could recall all the minute details,” said Ishika Khatri, who is pursuing Political Science Honours at Delhi University.

Starting CUET UG preparation from Class 11 will hold immense significance, primarily because Class 11 lays the groundwork for the more challenging curriculum of Class 12. NTA score is a percentile score of the candidate in the test in which the candidate has appeared. It indicates his position vis-à-vis others who appeared in it. It is an indicator of the relative position of the candidates amongst those who appeared in the test.

The exam on May 29 was conducted only for a select group of students, who could not appear for the exam at the Maharana Pratap Group of Colleges exam centre. This decision was taken after a wrong question paper was distributed on May 15.

“In one of the exam centres, the invigilators mistakenly distributed English medium question paper to the Hindi medium students. It affected nearly 215 students, who could not appear for the exam on that day, i.e. May 15. However, this is not a re-exam,” a senior NTA official told indianexpress.com before the exam.

To calculate the normalised score for CUET UG candidates, three variables are required: the raw score of the candidate (A), the total number of candidates with a score equal to or less than her raw score (B), and the total number of candidates in that particular session (C).

The mathematical formula applied is B divided by C multiplied by 100.

For example, take the case of a student who appears in a session with 41,326 other candidates. Say, she obtains 121 marks, scoring more than 37,244 other candidates of her session. Her normalised percentile score will be 37,244/41,326X100, which comes to 90.1224411. Percentile scores will be calculated up to 7 decimal places.

First, the NTA sorts the candidates in descending order of their percentile scores, after which their raw marks are listed against their percentiles. A third metric called ‘interpolated mark’ is then calculated for each candidate using a method called linear interpolation.

This mathematical concept is applied to find the interpolated marks for every student, assuming that every student appeared on the same paper twice. Their actual raw marks were then divided by the interpolated marks, and the normalised marks will be computed.

After the CUET UG result, students can register for admission to the colleges at the undergraduate level with the CEUT UG scores.

No, the CUET UG result date and time are not confirmed yet. However, going by previous year trends, the CUET UG result is declared soon after the release of the final answer key.

NTA will not prepare the CUET UG merit list since the criteria for preparing the same may vary with each participating institution. Each participating institution will prepare the merit list according to its own criteria and admit the candidates based on the NTA score.

The CUET UG retest was taken by roughly 250 candidates from the Oasis Public School in Hazaribagh, which is under the scanner for NEET UG leak. All candidates from this centre were directed to take the retest on July 19.

A re-examination was also conducted on July 19 after the candidates sent grievances regarding the leakage of question papers. The re-test was conducted in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode and the provisional answer key for this test was released on July 22.

To check the result the candidates need to click on the “CUET UG Result 2024”, displayed on the home page of the official website, followed by logging using using the application number and date of birth to access the scorecard. Once, the scorecard pdf is displayed on the screen download and save the result for further reference.

NTA has released the CUET UG 2024 final answer key.

Challenges against the CUET UG 2024 answer key without justification or evidence and those filed on any other medium other than the prescribed link will not be considered.

The candidate would be debarred for three years in the future and shall also be liable for criminal action and /or any other action as deemed fit.

Last year, the CUET UG provisional answer key was first released on June 29. NTA re-released the CUET UG provisional answer key again on July 3. A total of 333 questions were dropped from this version of the answer key. However, another set of answer keys was released in the second week of July in which 411 questions had been dropped. Last year, CUET UG was held between May 21 and June 17 and the result was announced on July 15.

The result of CUET UG  2024 of the candidates who indulge in unfair means practices will be cancelled and will not be declared. Similarly, the result of those candidates who appeared from the centre other than the one allotted to them or allowed another candidate/person to write the exam on his behalf will be cancelled. No plea will be entertained in this regard, NTA said.

Delhi University is also expected to postpone its UG classes to August 16, according to Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh.

The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) will witness a ‘usual’ delay in the commencement of the first semester for undergraduate courses due to the pending results of CUET UG.

“There is the usual delay in starting the new semester because of the delay in CUET results. We cannot opt out of CUET unless it is stopped. For the next academic year, we haven’t had any discussions on the lines of opting out of CUET,” a spokesperson from JNU

The scores and results of CUET UG 2024 can be utilised by other organizations as per their eligibility criteria, norms, applicable regulations, guidelines and rules.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has not yet announced the CUET UG answer key time.

There shall be no re-evaluation/re-checking of the CUET UG 2024 result. No correspondence in this regard shall be entertained, NTA said while releasing the CUET UG information brochure 2024.

If none of the options is found correct in CUET UG, or a question is found to be wrong, or a question is dropped, then all candidates who have attempted the dropped question will be given five marks (+5) marks.

If all the options in CUET UG are found to be correct then five marks (+5) will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.

According to the CUET UG 2024 marking scheme, if more than one option is found to be correct then five marks (+5) will be awarded to only those who have marked any of the correct options in CUET UG OMR sheet.

For the CUET UG 2024 multiple choice questions, to answer a question, the candidates need to choose one option corresponding to the correct answer or the most appropriate answer.

The CUET UG 2024 final answer key will be out before the announcement of the CUET UG result. The CUET result will be declared after considering the grievances raised against the answer key.
