How did you prepare for CUET?

I did not get myself enrolled in any CUET-specific coaching. I did not refer to any other book for CUET preparation but focussed on the textbooks which my school followed for Class 12. Except for economics, where I followed Sandeep Garg, I focused on NCERTs for all the other subjects.

Whatever I studied for my board exams was needed for CUET. For the deleted portions of CBSE, I studied them myself and asked for guidance from my school teachers for the topics and chapters which I felt required assistance.

After my board exams were over, I mainly focussed on the deleted portions of the CBSE curriculum. I also started taking mock tests available online and gave dedicated time to the English paper. The pattern of English tests in both board exams and CUET is different. The English paper in CUET contains grammar-related and vocabulary questions. I paid proper attention to the English paper as well.

At times during my preparation, when I felt I was getting bored, I used to take mock tests. Students should never neglect the importance of mock test.

— Do not ignore the deleted portions of CBSE

— Devote time to all the subjects during your preparation. Make a proper routine and allocate time to all the subjects

— For geography, questions on maps are asked. The NCERT textbooks have in them several questions on maps. If one is thorough with them, it becomes easier to deal with the questions in CUET UG exam.

— Solve as many questions as you can.

— Be relaxed. The exam is not that tough. It becomes easier with NCERT textbooks.

Why did I choose Hindu College?

I chose Hindu College because it is considered one of the best colleges for BA History (Hons) along with St Stephens’. Initially, I was confused as to which one to take and which to ignore, but then after talking to seniors and my friends, things got clearer.

Hindu College is known for having a good academic record. The college has also a good base for extra-curricular activities. Apart from Hindu College, I added 17 other colleges and programme combinations including Venkateshwar College as my preferences.

Life in Hindu College

I am now involved in three different societies in my college. The first one is the Hindi Debating Society, while the second and third ones are the Buniyaad and Electoral Literacy Club.

With Buniyaad, I am developing my dream towards civil service preparation. It is the civil services society of Hindu College. It arranges weekly seminars, group discussions, quizzes and topper talks frequently. The Electoral Literacy Club promotes democratic values and vigilance among students through various engaging activities, programs and hands-on experiences. All these things have helped me grow and transform for the better. My point of view has changed and I can now think out of the box and with reasons and multiple angles.
