CUET Toppers’ Tips: ‘This helped me get admission at DU’s Miranda House,’ says Sangamitra Baksi
Sanghamitra Baksi shares how CUET helped her get admission to her dream college.

Sanghamitra Baksi is first year BA (Hons) English literature student at Miranda House. Being an avid reader, she thought English Literature would be a good option for her. In CUET UG 2022, she secured 100 percentile with a perfect 800 out of 800 score. She completed Class 12 from Modern Convent School in Dwarka and secured 98.2 per cent in CBSE board exams.
She talks to indianexpress.com about how she prepared for the exam and more. She appeared for three domain subjects — Political Science, History, Psychology and one language subject — English.
How does it feel to study at Miranda House?
Miranda House was my first choice and am glad that I am pursuing the course of my choice. Being an avid reader, I felt it was the right option for me. I have got so much exposure to different kinds of plays, novels, poems covering various genres.
My CUET experience
I was a bit nervous and it was new for us however, since I studied properly for the board exams so I didn’t have much to worry about. The level was pretty moderate.
Also, I feel that had it not been for CUET I wouldn’t have got admission at Miranda House. With the high cut-off system, it would have been difficult to get into DU with less than 99 per cent.
CUET had too many technical glitches
There were too many technical glitches, it happened with me as well. I went to the centre for one of my CUET UG and waited for very long but the exam did not begin. Later the authorities informed us that the exam was cancelled.
There were some students whose exams were cancelled after they completed the exam. So, I feel the NTA should focus on conducting the examination smoothly.
My advice for students appearing for CUET
Don’t stress too much, be calm and give the exam with confidence. Make sure you go through the NCERT thoroughly and it will be more than enough.
