CBSE Class 12th History Exam Analysis: Easy, direct questions; MCQs tricky’

While the exam was rated as easy by several students and experts, some also claimed that the some multiple-choice questions were a bit tricky.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on March 28 conducted the Class 12 History exams, which was rated as easy by students and experts. Students observed that the exam had reference to case-based questions and map making questions.

“Across the three sets, case-based questions and map-making were common in all. The exam had questions from almost all chapters like Bricks, Beads and Bones, Bhakti Sufi, Kings, Caste and Class, Mahatma Gandhi and the National Movement, An Imperial Capital – Vijayanagara, Framing The Constitution and Revolt of 1857,” said Priya Gupta, History teacher at Billabong High International School, Malad.

While the CBSE exam was rated easy by several students and experts, some claimed that the multiple-choice questions were a bit tricky. However, both short and long-answer questions were direct and not confusing.

“Source-based questions were also easy to attempt. Map questions were within the syllabus,” said Don Augustine- PGT History, VidyaGyan School.

Some experts have also observed that the questions were from previous years’ papers, which could lead to students scoring better than they had expected.
