CBSE generally follows step-marking in mathematics papers.
If you don’t get the final answer to a math question, you can still earn partial marks for:
– Correct use of formulas
– Correct method
– Mentioning the desired steps
Showing the steps clearly is important. If you write the formula and attempt the subsequent steps (even if you make mistakes in calculation), you could earn partial credit. However, just writing the formula will not to earn marks.
According to the new CBSE guidelines, students will have to first apply for a photocopy of their evaluated answer book before proceeding to the next steps — verification of marks or re-evaluation.

Class 12 students are required to score 33 per cent marks separately in theory and practicals. If a student fails to meet this criteria by one mark or so, then grace marks may be awarded.
– Class 12 students who were unable to pass one subject and are placed in the compartment category
– Students who were declared by replacing 6th or 7th subject can appear in the failed subject
