Here are the vacancies depending upon the category of the candidates.

Bihar Police Constable Recruitment 2025: Eligibility & age

–Candidates interested in the position must have passed Class 12 or the Intermediate examination or possess a Maulvi qualification from the Bihar Madrasa Board.

–Minimum age 18 years and maximum age 25 years for non-reserved category;

–Aspirants with a Shastri or Acharya qualification (with English) or any equivalent certification obtained by April 18, 2025, are also eligible to apply for the recruitment drive.

— The age of the candidate will be calculated based on the date of birth mentioned in the matriculation or equivalent examination certificate. As per the cut off date, the age limit of the candidates will be as follows, reservation category wise:

–Relaxation of maximum age limit by 2 years for males of Backward Classes category and Extremely Backward Classes category, i.e. minimum age 18 years and maximum age 27 years;

–Relaxation of maximum age limit by 3 years for women belonging to backward class and extremely backward class category, that is, minimum age is 18 years and maximum age is 28 years;

–Relaxation of maximum age limit by 5 years for SC/ST category men and women and Transgender, i.e. minimum age 18 years and maximum age 30 years;

–Home Guards of all reservation categories will be given relaxation of five years in the prescribed maximum age limit.

Step 2: On the homepage, under the ‘Apply Online’ select the post a candidate wants to apply for.

Step 3: Create login and complete the registration process.

Step 4: Add documents and images in the specified form.

Step 5: Select the submit button and pay the fees. Remember to download the form for future references.

Bihar Police Constable Recruitment 2025: Selection process

There are two stages in the examination with the first written exam followed by the PET exam.

Written Exam 

–In the first stage of the recruitment, the Bihar Police written examination will carry 100 marks, consisting of 100 objective-type questions. That is one mark each. Registered candidates will have two hours to complete the written exam.

— Those shortlisted and cleared will appear in the second stage, the board will shortlist five times the number of available vacancies based on merit for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

PET

–In the PET, height and chest weight will be measured, no marks will be given for this, but candidates who do not fulfill the prescribed qualifications will be declared unsuccessful. No relaxation in the minimum prescribed standards/norms of physical efficiency will be admissible.

–Under PET, it will be mandatory for female candidates to give a declaration that they are not pregnant at the time of the physical efficiency test. Pregnant women will not be allowed to participate in the physical efficiency test.

How will final list be prepared?

The final merit list for selection for appointment to the post of constable will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidate in the three events under the physical efficiency test, namely running, high jump and shot put, mentioned the advertisment. It will be necessary for the candidate to be successful in these three events separately.
