This year, a total of 13,04,352 students appeared for the inter Class 12 BSEB exams. Of them, 6,26,431 were girls and 6,77,921 boys. The exams were held in 1,523 exam centres across the state.

The overall pass percentage for BSEB inter was 83.70 per cent last year. It was around 3 per cent points' increase from from 2022’s 80.15 per cent. 

BSEB last year said that the board has been attracting students from other states and boards for the past few years. As per the data shared by BSEB last year, the CBSE is the board from where the majority of the students shifted to BSEB. The data reveals that the board has been attracting students from CBSE since 2018.

Bihar Board’s Class 12 result has witnessed an increase in the pass percentages for the last three years. Before it, the board students were struggling to score even 80 per cent. 

The BSEB might announce the Bihar board Class 12 result date soon.

In 2019, BSEB decided to implement 50 per cent objective-type questions in the inter exams. In papers with practical, of the total 100 marks, 30 marks were for practical exams and 70 marks for theory exams. Out of the 70 marks theory paper, 50 per cent of the total i.e. 35 marks questions were asked as MCQs while rest 35 marks were subjective theory questions.

As per the data made available by Bihar Board last year, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), a national education board, is the board from where majority of the students are shifting to BSEB. The data reveals that the board has been attracting students from CBSE since 2018.

The number of students shifting from CBSE to BSEB has been continuously increasing by nearly 20,000 since 2018.

This time, BSEB announced in advanced that the students who reach the examination centre later than the scheduled time for admission, by jumping over the boundary wall or attempting to forcefully enter the examination centre will be considered illegal,” BSEB warned in an official post on X.

Every year, the Bihar Board announces the press conference venue and time a day in advance. The press conference is held at their Patna office and is attended by the BSEB officials, chairman and the state education minister. This year, the BSEB has not announced till now. However, either by today evening or tomorrow, the updates are expected to be released.

While the Lok Sabha Elections will commence from April 19 and conclude on June 1, the National Testing Agency is confident that there will be no change in the exam schedule of the JEE Main 2024 session 2 exams and NEET UG 2024.

The NTA has confirmed to indianexpress.com that the “JEE Main session 2 and NEET will be as per schedule. However, the CUET schedule will be reviewed after registration is completed and will try to do that also as per schedule,” a senior official from NTA said.

BSEB claims that in 2022, 1,13,210 students of other boards enrolled in Class 11 of Bihar Board, including 95,204 students from CBSE. As a result of the online enrollment system, about five lakh students of other boards have taken admission in Class 11 of BSEB since 2018.

Bihar Board students have to score a minimum of 33 per cent to pass their Inter exams. However, in practical subjects, 40 per cent of the marks must be obtained while the written examination requires a minimum of 30 per cent.
