The Samajwadi Party (SP), which was upset with its INDIA bloc ally Congress for not giving the party any seat to contest in the Haryana Assembly polls, is suddenly upbeat about the election results to be announced on Tuesday.
After the exit polls predicted a clear majority for the Congress in Haryana, the Akhilesh Yadav-led party has started preparations for celebrations at its Faridabad office.
Sources in the party said they are planning to burst firecrackers and distribute sweets in Faridabad and other districts if the INDIA bloc wins majority in the state.
Language No Bar
TAKING A leaf out of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s book, Panchayati Raj Ministry officials have started using artificial intelligence for effective communication. Last week, the ministry used Bhashini, a language tool, for a live webcast of its workshop in eight different languages – English, Bangla, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam and Marathi.
The tool enabled real-time voice-to-voice translation, where the officials’ speeches in Hindi were instantly translated into the selected language of the listener. The participants were given the option to scan a QR code displayed across the venue and on the main screen, allowing them to select their preferred language for a seamless listening experience, said an official. The PM has used the same tool on several occasions.
Designation Delay
Lawyers in the national capital have been eagerly waiting for some time for the Delhi High Court to designate new senior advocates. However, it seems the process would take longer than expected.
The selection panel, comprising the Chief Justice and two most senior judges of the HC, had to be reconstituted after both senior judges — Justices Rajiv Shakdher and Suresh Kait — were recently elevated as Chief Justices of other High Courts. Now, a new panel with CJ Justice Manmohan and Justices Vibhu Bakhru and Yashwant Varma will resume the process.
