Letter Of Gratitude
After the BJP reached out to the Christian community on Christmas on Monday, party’s Muslim women workers on Tuesday will hand over a letter to district magistrates across Uttar Pradesh, expressing gratitude to PM Narendra Modi for the welfare schemes aimed at benefitting them, and also for banning the practice of triple talaq. The letter wishes to see “Modi bhai jaan” as Prime Minister for the third term in 2024.
Staking Claim
The Communist Party of India (CPI), which had last won a Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh in 1991 and an Assembly seat in 1996, has decided to make a claim on three Lok Sabha seats in the state as a constituent of the INDIA bloc. In its two-day meeting that concluded on Sunday, party’s state council has identified Ghosi, Ghazipur and Banda seats. The party will propose this when negotiations for seat-sharing begin with the Congress, SP, and RLD. In 1991, the CPI had won the Ghazipur Lok Sabha seat and in 1996, it won the Ghazipur Assembly seat.
