Delhi Confidential: Language No Barrier

At a time when the Parliament security breach issue has given the Opposition a handle to confront the government, the Treasury benches seemed short on MPs. As the party as well as the Prime Minister have urged leaders to be active on the ground and step up electioneering, many MPs have been missing from the House. Last week, a minister responsible for floor management complained to a senior leader that he could not get even the ministers who were given roster duty to attend the House.

Deserted Again

Sushma Swaraj Bhawan has been one of the most happening places in New Delhi during India’s G20 Presidency over the past one year. The building in Chanakyapuri houses India’s G20 Secretariat and has state-of-the-art meeting and conference facilities. However, after India’s G20 Presidency came to an end on November 30, the place wears a deserted look. It is leant that many people who had their tenure co-terminus with India’s G20 Presidency have moved to their parent organisations. Now, people wonder what will happen to the state-of-the-art facilities.
