Amid a packed day in Bengaluru — from speaking to postal workers to meeting CEOs — Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia made some time Thursday for a visit to the popular Rameshwaram Cafe to taste its famous ghee-soaked dosa and chutney. Some students at the eatery, who initially mistook him for a Bollywood celebrity, also clicked selfies with him. On the flight back to Delhi, Scindia introduced himself to a curious co-passenger as a “jan sevak”. The co-passenger realised he was a minister only after he revealed his name.
Capital Visit
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s brief visit to Delhi earlier this week has raised questions over its purpose as well as its timing — right in the middle of the Maharashtra Assembly’s Monsoon session. Shinde also met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh during his visit.
Welcome Gift
Agriculture Ministry officials attending a meeting in Srinagar last week were pleasantly surprised to receive a gift package on their arrival. The pack featured a range of local products, including handmade goat milk soap, made by a farmer producer organisation (FPO). The same gift pack was also presented to attending ministers and MPs. Incidentally, the members of the FPO, Pahadi Kisan, received training under the Indian Army’s Mission Sadbhawana initiative in 2022–23, an official said.
