The BJP on Thursday celebrated its foundation day. But there seems to have been a little confusion among its leaders whether it was the 43d or the 44th foundation day of the party. In the morning, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath posted a message saying, “Congratulation to all the nationalist workers on the 43rd Foundation of BJP.” The party’s national president, J P Nadda, called it the “44th sthapana diwas”. In the video attached to Home Minister Amit Shah’s message, it was 43rd. But in another post in which he put up Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to party workers, Shah stated: “Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji is addressing the workers on the occasion of 44th Foundation Day of Bharatiya Janata Party.”
Lesson To Be Learnt
Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Sekhawat on Thursday found there was something to be learnt from the way the British had planned New Delhi around a hundred years ago. Speaking at the sixth Asian Cities Summit, the minister said that when he told a Cabinet colleague that he was going to attend the event, the fellow minister pointed out that the parts of New Delhi designed by the British were relatively congestion-free, compared to the areas that were built later. Sekhawat said urban planning today should also take into account the possible needs of 100-200 years in future.
