Thousands of BJP workers greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his roadshow in Kochi on Tuesday night — the second in Kerala in the last two weeks. Modi is on a two-day visit to the state.
Modi, who will stay in Kochi Tuesday night, will visit Sree Krishna temple, Guruvayur, Thrissur Wednesday morning.
He would also attend the wedding of the daughter of actor-turned-BJP leader Suresh Gopi, the party’s potential candidate from Thrissur Lok Sabha seat. He will then head to Sree Ramaswami Temple at Thriprayar in the district. This is one of the prominent Ram temples in Kerala.
In Kochi, he would address a gathering of the in-charges of the party’s shakti kendra (booth. Apart from party-related events, Modi would also inaugurate three major infrastructure projects worth over Rs 4,000 crore at the Cochin shipyard.
On January 3, Modi held a roadshow in Thrissur. Although the BJP is yet to win a Lok Sabha seat from Kerala, the party is the first to hit on a campaign trail with Modi leading roadshows and addressing party’s grassroots level workers.
