FIR against AAP’s Seemapuri MLA Dharmendra Koli on molestation charge

Koli,who contested polls after his sister died,allegedly molested wife of one of the candidates.

Just hours after he won the elections from the Seemapuri constituency,Aam Aadmi Party’s Dharmendra Singh Koli’s name made his way into police records.

Dharmender,who fought the elections replacing his sister Santosh after she died in a road accident,has been accused of molesting a woman.

According to the complainant,Dharmender allegedly molested the wife of one of the candidates he defeated on Sunday.

Police sources said the complainant alleged that on Sunday afternoon,Dharmender and his party workers were celebrating outside the rival’s house. The woman’s husband objected to Dharmender bursting crackers outside their house and this led to a scuffle.

According to the FIR,Dharmender and his supporters allegedly barged into the house,molested the woman and threatened her. They then fled the spot,the FIR stated.

Following the incident,police were informed and a case under IPC sections relating to molestation,trespass,criminal intimidation,rioting and unlawful assembly was registered at Seemapuri police station.

Police said no arrest has been made so far.

Speaking to Newsline,Dharmender denied the allegations. He said while he was celebrating,his supporters did not even allow him to get off the jeep he was travelling in.

“The man (the woman’s husband) lost the elections and is now filing a false case against me. I could not even get down from the jeep and take blessings from the people who helped me win. Till date there has been no case against me. This is a conspiracy.”

DCP (Northeast) V V Chaudhary was not available for comment.
