The DySP said that Desai, a Khirasara resident, and Fulabhai used to run a shop near Khodaldham in Kagvad village of Jetpur taluka, but had ended their partnership a year ago. Desai owed Fulabhai Rs 45 lakh. To recover the money, Dhiru and Bangadiwala called Desai to a place where the latter strangled him, the officer said. The duo later dumped Desai’s body in a ditch at a deserted place in Khambhalida and later, Fulabhai tried to burn the body by pouring an inflammable liquid on it and then setting it on fire.
Zala said that Fulabhai and his brother-in-law have been arrested for murder and causing disappearance of evidence, while Bangadiwala is on the run.
